History: In the summer of 2011, Vincent Feuillet and Lily Robert-Foley ran into each other for the first time one late evening on the banks of the canal St. Martin in Paris, and a friendship was fast formed.  Vincent introduced Lily to his first album La Matrice Sensible which she found « fruité et étonnant » (fruity and astonishing).  In turn, Lily played Vincent some small songs she had written on the guitar and piano and the idea was formed to start a group.  Both agreed that the group (as yet unnammed) needed « pleins de filles » (« des centaines de filles !  des milliards de filles ! »), and in November Camilla Campo de Flores and Heta Rundgren joined the group, first as back-up singers and now as fully fledged co-composers.  The group named itself The Very Rich Hours (or TVRH as it is often called by its familiars) after the medieval calendar and illuminated manuscript by the Duc de Berry and its reference to the college of Pataphysics and Alfred Jarry.  The sound combines the ambient electronic, introspective and complex chord harmonies of Vincent’s early work with Lily’s roots in country, punk, indie and pop that she picked up playing with several bands in her home country, the United States.  Vincent and Lily alternate mostly between the piano and the guitar and the group now aspires to vocal arrangements that blend equally the three voices, which represent the three female voice registers from low (Heta) to high (Lily) (with Camille in-between).  Camille contributes with vocal and violin harmonies, and adds a French language component with her background in poetic compositions and her sense of sound and noise.  Heta, who has recently written  her first song for TVRH, blends a northern melancholic tonality with complex melodies and unusual harmonies.  They hope also in the future to blend poems, voices, sounds and noises from the group's three languages (English, French and Finnish), with Vincent’s talents for electronic composition and production.
