As The Beatles once famously sang, "I get by with a little help from my friends".
My best friend once gave me some advice I really didn't want to hear during the heat of the moment. But it was the truth and cut through the crap that was going on in my life and I realised, that the ones who truly look out for you - aren't afraid to say what you need to hear. 
So as we all look forward to a rendezvous or whimsical adventure with our closest friends and family after lockdown. 
The Vixens are proud to present to you, they're ambitious fourth single release this year "Friends".
We've been through a lot as band these past five years & what we know truly is - we love playing our music to you.
So we hope you enjoy this tale and it reminds you of the good times we can all share one day again soon.

Friends

A feel good song indie rock song for the soul, telling the tale of longing for someone who you probably shouldn't want to chase. Yet your yearning cannot be denied and it makes it all worth the while. This song has been in our set for some time and has evolved to what is now the polished and totally finished article. We recorded Secret Lover at Blackhill Studios Southampton and is our first official release as a single which will also be part of an E.P due for release in Spring 2019.

News Of The World

Guillotines is a recollection from a powerful night-terror experienced by band's lyricist, Craig Barker. We can all think we are living our best life, but it can take one moment to realize - we are actually in a rut. And a positive change is the only thing we can do-  to get out of said rut.
The main riff was written at 3 o ' clock in the morning in his bedroom after Craig awoke from the night-terror. Certainly, the most experimental riff he had presented to the band and paved the way for a funkier sound to be imbedded within the band for future tracks such as "News of the World" and "Friends".

Guillotines

You Are Not Alone comes from an evolution of two early songs written by Craig Barker (Vocals/Guitar) & Max Seeley (Guitar). When both presented to the band it was decided it both needed a more upbeat bass-line & drum beat. Liam Kenchington (Bass Guitar), wrote a new groove which drove the song into a new rockier place and with Johnny Real (Drums) expert beats, the song really started taking a new and better shape. The Guitar Riffs & Melody after close inspection was tinkered to the right tones by Max Seeley and then the lyrics by singer Craig Barker. Three years after it's first conception the band are very proud to now present - You Are Not Alone. 

Often remarked as one of the more popular songs in it's live sets, the band have high hopes for it's release and are excited to see how it goes. It's a big rock anthem and has been brilliantly mixed by Matt Black of Hangover Hill.

Lyrically, the song touches the more sensitive but pressing subject of mental health, isolation, anxiety & depression - but with a positive message of defiance when pressed against adversity - you are not alone, we all stand together and it's better to talk and support one another than to suffer in silence.
