The Volted Hearts is a west London-based project started by Singer/songwriter Dave Kline and skillful drummer Hugo James, who were later joined by experienced, melodic bass player Pete Lock. They expanded the sound in 2023 with the addition of colourful lead guitarist, Phil Bax. They are currently working on new material with a view to gigging and recording; playing a mix of mainly originals and a few covers. 

Their sound reflects their varied influences, offering a mix of 60s garage pop, 70s new wave with a splash of Motown, Stax and Soul here and there. The emphasis is always on strong melodies, big choruses and ironic lyrics and social commentary.
