Welcome to Radio Görkȧīr. This is the beginning. One half of The Warriors, Cleary Mallard, hosted this month’s show live on Radio 4A. Acting as poetic and musical DJ, he mixed the background tracks, read the poems and played the recordings other poets sent in of their work. With a taste of Keiichi Suzuki’s ambient videogame soundtracks, Hugo Ball’s Dadaist sound poetry performed by Trio Exvoco and Joe Bunn: The Bard of Worthing’s launderette larks, Episode 1 is a sweet, jammy taste of things to come. In future shows we will be showcasing more experimental and Avant-Garde audio work.

If you’ve enjoyed this show, then please join The Warriors on the last Thursday of every month at The Roundhill Pub, Brighton, for Cabaret Görkȧīr. It’s a free night of zany live entertainment at one of Brighton’s cosiest venues. Heralding the experimental and Avant-Garde, Cabaret Görkȧīr is an evening drenched in theatre, music, poetry and of course The Roundhill’s great food and beer.
