The Welts are an alternative garage-rock band from Asbury Park, New Jersey. Their music has progressed greatly since the band’s founding by Michael Wheeler in 2014. What started out as a punk trio evolved into a wide-ranging indie rock outfit with influences stemming from bands such as The Strokes, The Velvet Underground and The White Stripes. Their songs have been described as “live and raw, but polished”. The Welts have played at a multitude of venues between New Jersey and New York including The Stone Pony, The Saint and Bowery Electric to name a few. Their second EP, Pretty Faces, can be found on Apple Music and Spotify, and they have a third in the works.
