DJ and producer RAVL delivers a break and melancholic universe, combining the warmth of analog synthesizers and icy percussions in a meticulously sharp sound design, infused with textured Hard Drum, UK Garage, and rumbling Techno.

His productions mirror his influences, rooted in a Bass Music intertwined with Anglo-Saxon Techno, branching into IDM and Jungle, sometimes tinted with shamanic South American Club culture, thus showcasing a unique, hybrid, and resolutely modern style.

As a prolific producer, he releases on remarkable labels such as YUKU, [re]sources, Bad Tips, and Nü Kvlture, on which the highly acclaimed "Outrenoir" was released. It has been played worldwide, including at Blumitsu's Boiler Room at Boomtown Fair and by Jamie XX at Making Time.

Collaborating with artists like Tim Karbon, Leese, HI ROSIE, and many other prominent figures in the French Bass Music scene, RAVL rightfully earns his place within this new generation, representing the Phocaean city on pioneering line-ups such as Metaphore Collectif, Animals Industry, Basses Fréquences, POLAAR, and even at Paris Electronic Week.

With this body of work, Arina carves her own path of zany eccentricities, emotive solitude & club kinship, while paying homage to the influential club scene that shaped the breakbeats we know today. 

The sounding of Scattered materialized during a time Arina was fuzing the old and new elements of self. She funneled the overwhelm of feeling "scattered" & torn into this EP. We feel the energetic push and pull throughout this body of work in her quest for clarity & connection.

Pioneers of the Indian electronic scene, The Midival Punditz offer up a retrospective of their sound for Wild City Mix #102.

The past decade or so has seen an undeniably meteoric rise in the popularity of electronic music in India. In simpler times, before festivals like VH1 Supersonic and Sunburn took off (circa 1997, in the age of Anu Malik and the Colonial Cousins) Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj - known together as Midival Punditz, sowed the first seeds of a genre that was going to blow up in a way no one could imagine back then.

The duo realised early on that Western dance music didn’t connect with them in the same way that indigenous sounds did, and even now, The Punditz’ sound is instantly recognisable for its unique amalgamation of Indian classical/folk music and popular electronic genres. After making a mark on the map with their collaborative gigs with Tabla Beat Science (Zakir Hussain and Bill Laswell), The Midival Punditz honed in on their vision with their event series Cyber Mehfil – a modern update on an ancient north Indian tradition of artistic gatherings. Since then, The Punditz have worked their way into the booming Bollywood space, releasing 3 albums so far and performing at a number of events in India and internationally. For Wild City Mix #102, the duo offers up a retrospective of The Midival Punditz’ sound since they began, to their freshest releases now.
