Unruly is a Deltarune AU inspired by and building on the original premise behind "Placed Bets" that explores the consequences of removing a given Dark World's ruler, boss, leader, etc..

In Chapter 1, Lancer introduces himself as "the bad guy". By the end of the chapter, we learn that his father, King, is the real threat.

But what if his father's card was missing from the deck? And what if Lancer was being fully honest, and he was the real threat all along? And what if that responsibility fell upon him, because nobody else would or could handle it?

The idea behind Placed Bets originally came a little while after having played Deltarune Chapter 1, wondering what a hypothetical fight against Lancer would be like if, as Lancer stated in (I think) his introduction, he truly was "the bad guy", much like the title his father would proudly wield.

It's been closer to 5 years at this point since I made the original Placed Bets, and one year fewer since I'd made v2. Suffice to say, it's been a while since I've revisited it, it's certainly been long enough to justify it. I've been in a particular remaster-y mood lately, so expect some "classics" (in other words, weird remaster choices) in the future!!

This song. Good lord this song.
I've been working on this [[little nipper]] for upwards of around a month now, but faced adversity due to going on vacation + subsequent weeks of busywork and general demotivation. I did NOT like how my initial outline for this cover sounded, and couldn't push past the second leitmotif section even though I'd been itching to cover this track since it came out.
I finally cracked and reeeaally drilled into this song two days ago, and because of that brief stint of inspiration, it's finally ready! Didn't really mix it after exporting but I'm so done with working on this song and wanna get more projects out of the way, haha. Who knew all it would take was a little... creative freedom?? ;DD ;DDDD ;;;DDDDD ;;;dDDDDdDDD


I tried to make the lead instruments near the beginning and end sound "kiddy," but there's still a bit of sassy grunge retained from the first version of the song, such as the heavy snare. Still, I tried to spin things in a more emotionally-driven direction to better suit new Camellia. This is also my second time making a really "electric" song (first was FOLLOWED), so I'm glad I got the practice in... I really want to make more original music like this.

I sampled a lot of audio for this one, but chief among them (to me, anyway) is "Plash, Plop, Gurgle" from MadRatDead! I misspelled the game's name in this description for 2 months before I noticed! Kill me! What better way to capture the essence of Camellia, by using music... composed by a different Camellia!
