    THE YELLOW MELODIES nos presentan la tercera y última parte de su trilogía ‘Sunshine Pop’, una colección de cinco canciones brillantes y luminosas, cuatro propias y una versión del “Living in another world” de TALK TALK.

    Se trata de un CD-EP en formato digipack, de edición limitada a 100 copias, en el que predominan los temas en castellano. 

	THE YELLOW MELODIES (Rafa Skam a la voz y guitarra, Antonio Clares al bajo y coros, Carlos Abrisqueta a los teclados y guitarras, y José Ángel Hernández a la batería) vuelven a sorprendernos con estos temas grabados durante el verano de 2020 en el estudio PM, con Pepe Moreno a los mandos, y contando de nuevo con la magistral aportación a los coros de Norma Hamilton, todo un añadido de lujo para estas bellas composiciones plagadas de luz, amor y juventud que te cargan de energía positiva. 

    ‘Sunshine Pop Ep3’ contiene luminosos himnos de pop de guitarras, que definen a la perfección el espíritu sunshine de su propuesta musical, bellas composiciones coloreadas con sintetizadores analógicos, mágicas armonías vocales, trompetas,...

THE YELLOW MELODIES bring us the third and last part of their ‘Sunshine Pop’ trilogy, a smart collection of five brilliant songs, four own ones and a cover of TALK TALK’ “Living in another world”. 

    It’s a limited edition of 100 copies on CD Digipak, and most of the songs (three) are sung in Spanish. 

    THE YELLOW MELODIES (Rafa Skam on vocals and guitar, Antonio Clares on bass and backing vocals, Carlos Abrisqueta on keyboards and guitars, and José Ángel Hernández on drums) recorded these songs on Pepe Moreno’s PM Studio last summer. Norma Hamilton added powerful backing vocals again in these shiny songs full of sunlight, love and youth that will recharge you with positive energies.

    ‘Sunshine Pop Ep3’ features guitar pop hymns, which perfectly define the sunshine spirit of their musical adventure throughout analogue synthesizers, magical vocal harmonies, trumpets and other colourful arrangements.

THE YELLOW MELODIES nos presentan ‘Pleasant dreams’, un tributo a su disco favorito de los RAMONES, que fue publicado el 20 de julio de 1981, por lo que los murcianos han hecho coincidir su salida con el 40 aniversario del fantástico álbum que fue producido por Graham Gouldman.

   Para ello, se llevan las canciones a terrenos bien distintos, prescindiendo casi completamente de las guitarras eléctricas y de la distorsión, y vistiendo sus canciones con sintetizadores, cajas de ritmo, guitarras acústicas, teclados, glockenspiels, cuerdas,... y sobre todo, multitud de armonías vocales, extrayendo todo el pop posible de esas canciones punk originales. 

   Ha colaborado Antonio Galvañ (PARADE) en “Come on now”, y también Ruth (VACACIONES) y Antonio (LOS ZAPATOS) en “All’s quiet on the eastern front”.

   Aparte de la edición en CD y en digital, habrá una edición en vinilo en otoño.

   Un bonito álbum en el que THE YELLOW MELODIES no han perseguido sacar el mismo sonido de los RAMONES como tantos grupos de punk y garage han hecho durante décadas, sino ofrecer un punto de vista distinto, mucho más pop, siendo fieles a su sonido de melodías brillantes, actitud hedonista y canciones llenas de luz de sol, amor y juventud, capaces de recargarte el día con energías positivas.

THE YELLOW MELODIES bring us ‘Pleasant dreams’, a tribute to their favourite RAMONES album, which was originally released on 20th July 1981, so the gorgeous band from Murcia have made their release coincide with the 40th anniversary of that fantastic álbum produced by Graham Gouldman. 

    They have taken the songs to very different places, changing the electric guitars and distortion for synthesizers, glockenspiels, acoustic guitars, strings, keyboards and above all, vocal harmonies, extracting as much pop as possible from those original punk songs.

    Antonio Galvañ (PARADE) has collaborated in “Come on now” as well as Ruth (VACACIONES) and Antonio (LOS ZAPATOS) have also recorded vocals in “All’s quiet on the eastern front”. 

    The CD is out now with a 16-page booklet and 3 bonus tracks. There will also be a 12'' vinyl LP in autumn. 

    A beautiful album in which THE YELLOW MELODIES have not tried to do the same RAMONES’ sound as so many punk and garage groups have done for decades, but they have offered a different point of view, much more pop, being faithful to their sound of bright melodies, hedonistic attitude and songs full of sunlight, love and youth, capable of recharging your day with positive energies.

Durante la pandemia, THE YELLOW MELODIES publicaron 3 CD-EPs de edición limitada en su sello Discos Imprescindibles. Cada EP incluía cuatro canciones propias y una versión de un grupo o artista que admiraban. Ahora por fin llega Sunshine Pop, el álbum, que recopila las canciones propias de esos EPs. 

   En ‘Sunshine Pop’, THE YELLOW MELODIES presentan una (más que) notable colección de canciones vitalistas, unas en español y otras en inglés, que destacan por la nitidez de sus arreglos (cuerdas, metales, sintes, órganos, carillón...) y por unas armonías de amplitud celestial que rozan la perfección. Melodías brillantes, actitud hedonista y sobre todo, mucho pop.

During the pandemic, THE YELLOW MELODIES released three CD-EP's through Discos Imprescindibles. Each EP includes four own songs and a cover of an artist or band they admire. Now ’Sunshine Pop’, the album, has just arrived, compiling all the own songs from those EPs.

The single starts with an astonishing new mix of “Found your smile”, by Cristóbal (SUNDAE), who has been able to recreate a shoegaze and dream-pop atmosphere from one of the most gorgeous tunes included in ‘New Identities’, overdubbing and reverting guitars, trying to evoke a sound close to the first THE JESUS & MARY CHAIN or the Loveless’ MY BLOODY VALENTINE, adding feedback and lots of reverb to this song.
