in january 2016, i took out an amazon prime store card in order to get an ableton push 2. i proceeded to make more beats than i have the rest of my life combined over the course of the year, and i thought it would be cute to put together a beat tape with one sole concept in mind: that it comes out this year.

so, i assembled Push It Along. it's a celebration of the need to birth beauty into the world despite our imperfections. here's to more beat tapes and less archives.

Joy Division cover. I used to associate JD covers with the most eyeroll hipster artistic bankruptcy, and now I realize it's exactly that escapist opiate that's really the driving force behind everything I loved about music, even in its most developed forms. music is a flight from fancy and can hardly sustain a full life by itself. what an absurd burden to place on such a delicate thing. —xx
