What do bands such as Coldplay, the Black Keys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Iver, and Kings of Leon all have in common? The Zealous Friars, of course. 
A band born out of the culturally-stagnant Montgomery, Alabama in the Fall of 2009 is made up of four high school friends who shared a passion for creating music. A.C. DeMoss, 20, plays everything...literally. He can sing, play drums, guitar, bass, piano, and a little harmonica if you ask him to. A.C. is the creative mind behind all the music, writing lyrics and most of the guitar parts. 
Mitchell Parrish, 21, is a founding member of the Zealous Friars, alongside A.C. Mitchell began as the primary guitar player for the band, however switched to bass after taking up a more profound interest in the instrument. Mitchell can be credited for the more experimental sides of our music. 
Joining the band by necessity was Will Massey, more affectionately known as “Wild Bill.” Massey, at the time of the Zealous Friars’ formation, was the only person known to play drums in the high school. However, Wild Bill has transformed into a phenomenal drummer, known for his crazy, off-beat snare hits and overall goofiness behind the drum set. Like Mitchell, Wild Bill contributes to the creativity behind the band, and we wish him all the best as he studies at Vanderbilt. 
The last member to join the band came at a rather unexpected time. Davis Hudson was the newcomer to the Montgomery music scene with only three years of guitar playing under his belt; however, the Friars took him in. The other members often practiced at his dad’s garage downtown, and eventually Davis proved he could play on par with the rest of the band. Davis' contributions can be seen in the blues solo on "Explosions" as well as co-writing "Tone It Down." 
The See What Happens EP is the first release from this young band; however, it is a promising one. Mixing hard-driving blues guitar over beautiful acoustic melodies, the Zealous Friars hope to garner some recognition as one of the most promising young bands out there.
