Singaporean Producer & DJ YuJin Lim has been playing behind the decks in some of Singapore’s uber clubs for more than two decades now, yet he remains a devoted student as he eagerly scouts for new sounds that run the gamut of jazz to funk, soul, disco, afro-beats to house and techno. Indeed, YuJin’s versatility as a DJ is as varied as the genre he first took root in and signed up for as a 17-year-old in 1996.

First initiated into the Body & Soul sound with DJs like Masters at Work, Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit and labels such as Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Salted Music, Ovum and many other labels. YuJin flew the house music flag with his residencies at Lava Lounge, Lush, Hu’u Bar and Club Eden – all by age 20. 

By then, he had amassed a following that danced nights away to the sexy, percussive-laced and vocal house grooves. 

Shortly after, YuJin landed his biggest residency at Centro, where he supported international acts such as Roger Sanchez, Danny Rampling, Jesse Saunders, Joeski, Onionz, Mateo & Matos among others. 

He has also graced venues such as Zouk, Phuture, Canvas, kyō (SG & KL), Sweatbox (KL), Woobar (SG & HK), Basement (Hong Kong), Oasis Terrace, (HK), 1880, Straits Clan, Potato Head (SG), The Bar at 15 Stamford, Kilo Lounge, Camp Kilo Charcoal Club, Kilo Kitchen, Super Loco, Lucha Loco, Artemis, Bar Rouge, The Monarchy, Beerfest Asia, Nineteen80, W Hotel - Endless Summer Party, W Hotel - NYE Party, Tanjong Paradisco – 10th Anniversary, Perfect 10 NYE Countdown Party, WOMAD and more. 

In recent years, YuJin opened for heavyweights such as Franky Rizardo, Felix Da Housecat, Breach, Steve Bug, Simon Dunmore, Alan Dixon, Ray Mang and many other international artists. He also held a residency at the popular underground club, kyō. His style has since evolved to an edgier, funkier sound of house & disco music today, incorporating percussive elements while staying soulful, uplifting and groovy. 

A veteran who has remained pretty much under the radar profile, YuJin is also a familiar face behind the decks at Tanjong Beach Club, Straits Clan and The Bar at 15 Stamford showcasing music from soul, funk, disco to house. His recent high profile gig includes Standon Calling Festival in London. 

With music as a true breathing expression of his inner self and soul, YuJin believes in staying true to who he is and staying focused on constantly developing or recreating his sound. Rather than imitating any other, YuJin’s dedication to his craft through-out the years has found authentic expression in his refreshing and inimitable groove, one that is truly his as a DJ.

Second seasonal Ep for prolific Italian Dj and music producer Eleven Of July, “Dust in the Wind” is packed with energy, showcasing one more time his ability to build intricate melodies, grooving drum elements and suspenseful break downs. 

Opening track “A Secret Place to Hide” is a  definition of precision, power and elegance. We don’t know if that “secret place” would be some underground club, but the rhythmic synths, sitting on the heavy drive of the low end, would surely move every dance floor. 

Title track “Dust the Wind” explores the romantic side that Eleven Of July’ fans are certainly used to. Accompanied by a memorable synths work and dreamy choirs, it proceeds with a touch of nostalgic feel that encourage us to know more about the story behind the notes.

About the artist
Eleven Of July is the musical project of an eclectic dj / live performer, music composer/producer and remixer from Rome, Italy.

By favouring the vinyl’s warmth, Eleven Of July expresses his art through both dreamy and magnetically dark melodies. Performing already in different European countries and in front of big crowds of cities like Rome and Berlin, Eleven Of July exported his sound signature overseas, performing in Thailand and in the most underground clubs of Bangkok. 

Beside his recognized talent behind the decks, in 2017 his project as a music producer took off, making immediate buzz, with releases on top labels such as Suah, KDB, Natura Viva, Natura Viva Black, Awen Records, Wood, Black Square, Kitchen, Dear Deer and many others, reaching several times the Beatport top Charts.

His dark and atmospheric melodic techno has been already recognized and supported by artists like: Hollen, Locodice, Dubfire, Cattaree, Richard Cleber, Dj Tennis, Rache, &ME, Atlant, Andi Durrant, Las Von, Citizen Kain, Undercatt, Rafael Cerato and many more. 

Just like in his previous records, his Dj mixes  combine different genres gracefully, affirming the idea that electronic music can be combined to create puzzles, always telling a unique, and different story.
