Artist Spotlight: AS.98

Brisbane’s AS.98 is making waves in the House & UKG scene with his infectious grooves and high-energy basslines. Inspired by artists like MPH, Oppidan, Sammy Virji, and Disclosure, his sets are a mix of fresh UK sounds and classic house vibes.

Every artist has an origin story, and for AS.98, it all started with… a cereal box. Yep—his first taste of production came from a free CD that had a loop program on it, sparking a passion that would later define his sound.

Learning from the underground, he quickly realised that consistency is everything—staying on top of new music and refining his craft has been key to his growth.

Big things are brewing for AS.98 in 2025. His main focus? Dropping as much music as possible—and maybe even putting together his first EP. With a growing arsenal of unreleased tracks, he’s gearing up to make his mark.

It’s not just about releases, though—he’s got his sights set on building his own record label and fully locking in his signature sound. Gaining a loyal audience through his tracks is the next big step, making sure every release lands exactly where it needs to.

We are very excited for this one as we return to the 3000 Bass platform for yet another fantastic introduction as Bass veteran Brent Kilner unveils his brand new alias: VARKiD, taking a much more stripped back approach to 4x4 music, kicking us off with this absolute scorcher.

Taking the track title ‘U Know’, we are greeted by a wash of super colourful harmonic instrumentation and vibrant, 2 stepping drum designs, this one is a real party starter for certain. It packs a different type of punch and we can’t wait to see where this alias will go over time!
