Singer, Miss Roxton and guitar player, technician Si C, met over an all day breakfast at The Prom Café along from The Arches, Bristol. Conversation was struck up over the latest music reviews in Bristol’s fortnightly music rag Venue, and a musical conspiracy was born. It transpired that both musicians had a love of Jazz, Cappiello, Elvis and fried bread. Si C’s partners in crime; drummer, Jamie Morrison and bass player Mr.Mmm, joined forces and gave a rhythmic purpose to 33 Thieves. Taking inspiration from experimental music and the current wave of burlesque sweeping the UK, 33 Thieves communicate a riot grrl sensibility with a contemporary electronic sound that compliments the sultry, yet powerful vocal style of Miss Roxton. To this effect 33 Thieves are captivating entertainment, both darkly fascinating and musically mesmerising. The aim of the thieves is to rob you of your senses and replace them with an insight into a world that little bit darker than the one you came in from…
