My Mind Is Mud

New label ‘Flightpath’ is the sonic depiction of humankind’s inevitable excursion to dystopia. Pushing hardcore machine music into a new paradigm, with a combination of sonics and visuals that pull from the past and future in equal measure. It’s first release; a four track EP by Mani Festo (label founder) entitled ‘Higher’ captures its essence perfectly. Fusing breakbeats, soaring rave pianos, dark-side kick drums and industrial machine funk to soundtrack post-pandemic hedonism in a way that nothing else could.

The title track ‘Higher’ is a tale of long-lost raves, written during the summer of 2020. It reflects the first time in the history of electronic music that gatherings ceased to exist. The track is hopeful, but longs for the freedom of dancing in a field, something that seems like nothing more than a forgotten memory.

Brooklyn’s favorite party rocker / prince of acid / crop-top enthusiast WTCHCRFT returns to Sorry Records with four brand new tracks jam-packed with speed groovin’ acid, uniquely functional rump shaker techno, 160 bpm breakbeat freak-outs, and powerhouse arena rave weaponry! The Ooga Booga EP [SR50] — our fiftieth catalog release and our last release of this long, hard, and wacky year.


Kind of got a bit of an American rave underground supergroup in the mix as well ! 😇 First off — our prolific and peerless friend Bored Lord is back for her fourth (!!) Sorry Records remix of 2021 following her insane contributions to our records from Tony G and PowerPlay (PlayPlay & C. Powers). She’s fresh off the release of her debut 12” The Last Illusion — the first signee to Octo Octa and Eris Drew’s T4T LUV NRG label. Her 100% originals set at Nowadays Nonstop this last July was one of the best dance floor experiences I’ve had all reopening. And of course we are so happy to have the great Nikki Nair on a Sorry project for the first time. The Atlanta-via-Tennessee producer and DJ has been a consistent benevolent force for the American underground for years and his raw power has been evident via records for Scuffed Recordings, Banoffee Pies, Lobster Theremin, Dirtybird, and TRAM Planet. Nikki’s the first out-of-town DJ we’ve ever been lucky enough to bring to NYC for a party, destroying Bossa Nova Civic Club last summer for our Bossa Radio collaboration with Worst Behavior. He’s a lovely person and we’re so glad to have his absolute kitchen sink 160 breaks rollercoaster “Nikki Nair’s Shook Mix” for this release.

Today’s premiere is a soothing downtempo track courtesy of dubstep and drum and bass artist ENiGMA Dubz, under his chilled moniker Itona. This alias tends to focus on the more relaxed and introspective house and electronica productions as opposed to his typical 140 bpm bassy cuts.

Birmingham-based DJ and producer Itona has supplied us with a moving downtempo track that is part of his latest release on Morii Records which is due to release as part of his ‘Where You At?’ EP on February 10th. This is part of a split-EP between both aliases of the one individual, James Vine.

Vine has fused this release from all creative angles as he combines elements of his Itona alias and his better-known ENiGMA Dubz moniker which is generally associated with dubstep and drum and bass performances and productions.

Bones lays its primary focus on percussive elements while tapping into some organic lo-fi-sounding territory. A soft vocal also ties in well with the track as it compliments the dreamy bassline that can be heard throughout making for a truly relaxing listen.
