Mashable launched Social Media Day in 2010 to celebrate the proliferation of social media and its ability to connect us all – people-to-people, brands to consumers, governments to constituents etc. etc. In 2014, on behalf of Pyxl, Governor Bill Haslam signed a proclamation to make Tennessee the fifth state to officially recognize June 30 as Social Media Day. This marks the third year Pyxl has been involved and we are excited to continue to set the bar even higher and position Nashville as a leader in the social media space.

Social Media Day allows us to focus on the diversity of communities and businesses that use social media to connect. We all come from different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, but social media is the common thread in our lives. So, instead of focusing on the negative uses of media, we want to celebrate the people of Nashville doing good in the world through technology.
