one of the first beats i ever made, still don't know how i did it. the only relation is the usage of the Digable Planets audio samples.

Decided to go slower, but with a faster bpm, and a lady's phrase, and that bass. 

All this because i was at the kava lounge and there was a book club meeting that went over time, so i had to pass the time.

Planetcrusher revisited

I've been working on this for more than a month. It was frustrating finding the key and the bpm for the vocal but yay it was had. It was cool to throw drums and tings on the ting dem and it's funny to me to slightly change the context of the song by having a British Negro Male going hard in the paint praising white women. 

It's still a remix though.

On My Mind Remix

started off as a Bloc Waves loop, then realized Ms. Jackson's voice would be congruent for it, but the bpms didn't match because they were off by 20. Turns out when you switch the vocal from 45rpm to 33rpm it drops the bpm by twenty. Did that and YAY! and then adjusted the pitch so it sounded like she was singing slowly rather than it sounding like the recording was forced to go slow. From there it was build/arrange/edit/arrange/edit/mix/edit/mix/edit/mix/let it simmer/listen/edit/mix and now here it is.
