Over two years since its conception, we welcome you back to our beloved Satellite Trax sublabel. Aside from a complete visual redesign, this season will see both new and seasoned STRX contributors gracing our library with an abundance of DJ-approved dancefloor anthems.

Getting us started on a high-energy note, we have recruited an enigmatic newcomer to dive into our constantly expanding audio pool. From the depths of the Chicago underground, we have unearthed a fresh face in our local techno syndicate: enter Bodyman. Emerging from behind the yellowed street lights, he has already proven his proficiency in creating raw techno and electro-inspired tracks. The results feel rough around the edges yet authentic to his environment, encapsulating the familiarity of broken pavement in an urban sprawl. His latest offering is an ode to fabled predecessors and an assertive introduction to our worldwide audience.

We are proud to present "World Leader EP," the inaugural release of STRX Season 02 and Bodyman's latest statement piece. The project revolves around political dissent in our current climate, using of one of electronic music's most resistant genres as a vessel to propel it. We begin at full velocity as the title track establishes confrontational techno with an unforgiving kick drum. The "Assassination Mix" reworks the track into groovy electro goodness, introducing sonic characteristics that frequent the rest of this EP. The rugged "Scanner" pushes distorted kicks into the limiter, grinding on playful arpeggiators and delivering a balance of methodology. The project returns to its electro floorplan with "Stimulant Hoarder," a clear nod to Detroit's unmistakable influence in the form of a grueling bassline. "Shake" continues to meddle with the genre, this time letting off the gas to create more space in the soundscape as it all unwinds. On remix duties, we welcome acclaimed Midwest artist @dstrange-estmort (Tresor, TRAM Planet) to flip "World Leader" into a celebration of uplifting, peak time techno.

Bodyman's tendency to fuse pristine production elements with retro synths feels like modernization creeping on culturally vibrant neighborhoods. This cheeky blend of interests is well displayed in "World Leader EP," landing him on our radio with a distinct interpretation of techno and all its historic glory. The release also cuts the rope on a promising season for lovers of our renowned STRX series. Expect many twists and turns this time around, with more of a focus on no-frills club music ready to take control of the global dance circuit.

Satellite Trax - an expansion of our core imprint that focuses on dance-centric music and its club roots; part of the foundation within our sonic heritage. This sublabel serves as a primary source of dancefloor weaponry for DJs and enthusiasts aiming to unveil the latest rhythms heard from around the electronic music sphere.

Trekking through long and humid days of a lively summer, we find ourselves yearning to take the longer route more frequently. In an effort to capture slowed moments of the expansive world around us, we turn to an eccentric up and comer to help us master meditation through downtempo and space.

It was only a couple short seasons ago that French artist néel introduced themselves to us, bringing forth handmade audio relics like a merchant traveling across the mountainous internet. We were enticed hearing the byproduct of computerized sounds blended with organic field recordings - a stark yet memorable contrast. We were then astonished to hear that these demos would only mark the beginning of this contemporary guitarist's journey into our sonic niche. With a little help from our vibrant and welcoming community, we planted their compelling seedlings into the damp dirt of our musical garden.

We are proud to unveil the latest strain of our creative harvest - one as sentimental as it is inventive. Welcome to "Soft Soil EP," the debut project of néel and a field guide to their search for a newfound sonic identity. The composition was mainly developed in an isolated countryside home, utilizing its calm yet hollowing ambiance as an instrument. This stripped-down site, sometimes lacking electricity, was then filled with recordings of various social encounters on the bustling streets of urban sprawls around Europe. This juxtaposition is celebrated throughout the EP, combining both realms into one that thoughtfully expresses how their heart splits in two. The introduction serves as a synopsis of the journey ahead, mashing environmental sounds drenched in reverb under their careful guitar plucks. "Antha" brings out a more synthesized approach to néel's overall intention, yet still sounds like electronica indulged in nature. "Softly Pushed" and "Restlessness" stand out as songs with city origins - recordings of mindless chatter and flailing metal coincide with the franticness of modern drum 'n' bass. The two are split by "Sagittarius," a ravishing track that effortlessly demands attention like an unforgettable live solo. "0011" allows the project to fade out with rustic trip-hop wielding an undeniable groove - it concludes with a captivating guitar piece that softly tops off the soil blend.

"Soft Soil EP" tells the story of an artist searching for their footing, breaking the tender ground beneath them with each cautious step toward the vast ecosystem of experimental electronic music. In néel's case, the allegory digs deeper as it unearths their harmonious roots and intertwines them with the tangible world. The mixture is equal parts personal as it is musical, paving the way for what will surely be a thrilling sonic adventure.

Untethered is an ambient piece by Akuratyde from his new album Inviting Chaos. Emerging from the distance, it hovers between sorrow and serenity, vast as the ocean floor. It becomes a mirror of inner thought, where one feels both the fragility and inevitability of existence. Peaceful yet profound, the track lingers as a philosophical pause near the album’s end, slowly dissolving into stillness.
