Hot on the heels of Len Faki's rapturous remixes on Part 3 we welcome a host of international techno talent for Reverse Proceed Interpretations Part 4.

Argentinian Pfirter steps up first with 2 versions of the sublime Irritant. He delivers 2 strong versions, one of which delves into a deeper side of things and another more club orientated weapon. New French boy on the block, Roman Poncet, fires things up with his version of Rotary. A pounding, relentless take on Slam's original awaits. Closing off this stellar group is Etapp Kyle. His 'Gamma Mix' of Convolute goes into almost ambient territory but remains one for those early mornings as he keeps things deep and trippy.

Slowciety’s fourth release is all about the rhythm. Think percussions and samples, prominent bass-lines and a mind distorting pattern switching modular synth. With main stage tracks and open air pieces, Le Rythme covers it all. On this first EP, two original tracks from Orsery are set alongside killer remixes by the likes of newcomers and on-the-rise DJ like Italian producer Bawrut, no less. Serious drops abound in every track to deliver this love-filled EP.

It’s 2020, the dusty Pets plain spreads out before you. Nothing but sand, cactus plants and a bottle of good old red eye are all you have for company. Then you hear the shots. They’re fired with such flare they can only be from one man… Renato Cohen AKA the ‘Lone Ranger’
He fires in such a way you can’t help but move your feet. Then you move your hips. Then your head. Then your heart. You’re in funky town now and Renato’s the mayor. He leads with the disco bubbles and slinky restrained funk of ‘Lone Ranger’ before moving on to the heavier weaponry; the cowbell riddled, hoover-rattled stomper ‘Deocleciana’ and the bassline-plunging, deep funk hustling swagger of ‘Bismuth’.
And it seems our lonesome techno patrolman isn’t working alone… ‘Bismuth’ is also backed by an incredible remix from Jennifer Cardini. Ramping up the energy with a precision arpeggio bassline and injecting an entirely different sense of uplift with a lavish synth melody, it shoots from the hip in the most euphoric of ways.

Next up in the Sinchi series is @MoiseesDuro, co-founder (alongside Theus Mago) of acclaimed Mexican label @DuroLabel. Apart from curating a string of seriously high quality releases on the label, such as their latest offering Muy Duro III . Moisees is a seriously talented dj in  his own right, and a regular at some of Mexico's top venues. Furthermore, in addition to his contributions on Duro, he has contributed to a wide array of international labels such as Roam, Get Physical, Nein, amongst many others. Get a taste via the mix and interview below.




1) Can you tell us about this mix?  

Hmmm this mix has some of my favourite tracks of the moment, my most recent remix for The Micronauts and some unreleased tracks coming soon on Duro.

2) Introduce yourself?

I’m Moises Ramirez, also known as Moisees, producer and DJ from Mexico City. I'm managing two record labels, Duro and Fauna Rêve, both of which I manage with Mateo, aka Theus Mago.

3) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months? 

'The Death Of Hope' my latest EP on Duro. I also did a remix for Get Physical and some other cool labels.

Next up on Nightcolours is La Mano, the alias of UK based producer Carlo Bragagnini. With previous releases on the likes of Secret Factory & Through Gods Own Eyes, he's also caught the attention of Bicep and recorded a mix for their podcast series. With a sound forged on melody and emotion with influence from Italo-Disco right through to Progressive, his productions have been supported by DJs such as Ame, Man Power, Jennifer Cardini, Henry Saiz and many more. Solo Dancer is a melodic progressive gem, swirling arps, lush textured pads and nagging riffs piledrive the track forward to its delicious climax. Taking on remix duties is Dark Disco maestro Man2.0 who delivers a thumping, throbbing beast of a rework modelled around ever ascending melodies and snapping, snarling snare drums. Two decades. Twenty years. Twenty compilations. Over 400 tracks. Over two days of total playing time and countless coloured dots. If someone would have told us in 1999, when we put together TOTAL 1 that this would turn into one of the longest standing compilation series in techno world we would have laughed out loud. But here we are – in the year 2020 which will probably go down in history as the most difficult period ever for club culture. But we won’t stop doing what we’re doing. Music is our oxygen. We’ll dance together soon again.

The TOTAL series has always been like KOMPAKT’s yearbook and to say it with the late Frank Sinatra: It was a very good year. Our family of artists delivered a strong heterogeneous mix of uplifting sounds, from the lush reveries of ROBAG WRUHME and SOELA to the stark primetime bangers of MARC ROMBOY or ANNA & KITTIN and everything in between. Notable new entries to our crew are the Londoner KIWI with his wonderfully careless “Hello Echo” that picks up the camp disco vibes Justus Köhncke made a staple in our repertoire. Amsterdam’s DAVID DOUGLAS delivers an appetizer for a full course meal. His quirky pop approach sits comfortably between fellow dutchmen WEVAL’s abstract beats and AGENTS OF TIME’s opulent Italo Disco. YOTAM AVNI blends Detroit techno with new age jazz that reminisces the sound of ECM artists like Jan Garbarek or John Surman. The man with the hat, KÖLSCH also picks up jazzier notes in his very own big room style. Youngblood JONATHAN KASPAR appears twice, fortifying his status as one of the hottest beat smiths of our hometown Cologne. TOTAL wouldn’t be TOTAL without our permanent staff present in full force. As per tradition, KOMPAKT’s founding fathers, VOIGT & VOIGT, JÜRGEN PAAPE, JÖRG BURGER, MICHAEL MAYER as well as our Berlin outpost SASCHA FUNKE all deliver exclusive gems that also feature on Total 20’s double vinyl edition.
