q. pls introduce yourself

>I’m Mim from MitamineLab, a contemporary sound archive and curatorial project from Mexico City, also a radio show. I’m an art historian/cultural manager and I currently have two jobs, as a studio manager and as a project manager.

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?

>I just tried to evoque the sensation of living at Mexico city, pretty eclectic and unpredictable. I truly believe that Mexico City is a land of dream where emotions are always running high.

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?

>You can enjoy it wherever and whenever you want, maybe in the morning while drinking a good coffee, or even in a sunny afternoon with the company of a good shot of mezcal.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

>Is not an object per se, but I love that my living room has a view to the garden.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

>Yeah, I’m working in some music and my first EP ever. Hope to have something ready soon :)

Scripp curates the ambient/experimental mix series 'Tearooms', a sub-series of Laxworks. In his words, Tearooms aims to develop a diverse catalogue of experimental and ambient sound that is inspired by the way sonics influence and alter our perception of spaces. Scripp's musical outlook is driven by his curiosity towards how sounds create a shared state of mind.

This philosophy is reflected in his mix, which simulates a plush, indoor setting. While overwhelmingly comforting, the mix is peppered with moments of doubt and longing. 

Scripp's intention here was to deliver "a softer aesthetic", fusing dubbed styles, ambient cuts and jazz selections. The result is a mix which urges the mind to wander.
