The young and quickly emerging @zaraolsen is a DJ & producer who has been making waves across the nations capital (ACT/ Ngunnawal) in the last little while. Now based in Eora (Sydney) she is marking herself as one to be watched, with a trippy, dynamic dj style and an increasing repertoire of mixes.

In Zara's productions you can find elements of techno, IDM and bass inspired sounds .Her first release has just been released on Phenomena Records' recent compilation. Definitely one to watch! :-)

We stumbled across Zoe Pea at a little basement party in Bristol a few months back. Zoe was playing all night long with Jacob Amos, and the two of them completely blew us away. 

Since that party we’ve been tuning in to all of Zoe’s Noods and Narr Radio shows, and it wasn’t long until we were pestering her to record us a mix for the series. 

Zoe described this recording as scatty and rough round the edges, sounds about right! It’s also the perfect warm up for Zoe’s set at MOT on the 27th for our Red Haze party. We’re already getting giddy about the idea of hearing Zoe’s records on a system again, make sure you don’t miss her warming up the sweatbox that is Red Haze at MOT on the 27th !

Lena Willikens doesn’t play the hits. When she’s behind the decks, even her biggest fans often have no idea exactly what she’s playing, and that’s part of the magic. Like all DJs, Willikens of course has a passion for records, but she’s also after something bigger, something that’s truly transportive for those on the dancefloor.

Born and raised in Germany, Willikens first honed her unique approach during a long residency at Düsseldorf’s beloved Salon des Amateurs. These days, however, she’s based in Amsterdam, where her transportative impulses have been plugged into a variety of outlets with a global reach. On the radio, she pilots the monthly Lightning Conductor program on NTS. On record, she recently curated the fifth installment of Dekmantel’s acclaimed Selectors compilation series, and she’s also been tapped to remix the likes of Lena Platonos, S U R V I V E, rRoxymore, Simian Mobile Disco and Ana Helder, amongst others. On stage, Willikens works with artist Sarah Szczesny on Phantom Kino Ballett, an immersive audio-visual performance art project that defies routine explanation.

Still, it’s in the DJ booth where Willikens continues to make the biggest impact. Whether she’s playing alone or in tandem with fellow sonic explorer and Salon des Amateurs alum Vladimir Ivkovic, Willikens nimbly navigates electronic music’s darkest and most bizarre corners, sampling different temperatures, different moods and a dollop of chaos, just to keep things interesting. And although she herself doesn’t always know the final destination, when Willikens is at the helm, there’s no question that the journey is bound to be thrilling.

Dre wears many hats, both as a prolific DJ and incredible producer, with a genre defying attitude, and a constantly evolving taste. You can find some of his productions on @touch-of-loft and @nightimedrama, his mixes on a variety of amazing pages, or himself behind the counter at @somethingelsesydney where you're sure to get a great recommendation.

His attitude towards music is, and has always been one of thoughtfulness, care and intent, and this mix reflects just that. Dre went into this mix with, 'some sludgey trap/ downtempo/ambient,' vibes in mind, and it acts as the perfect background for you to watch the rain come in through your window.

Spending time in both Dublin and Berlin, @djopiumqueen is an enigmatic and highly regarded selector and producer - someone we've personally dreamed of hosting since day one.

This visual mix wisps through a land/dream-scape of their own creation. At times, hot, dry and frenetic, and at others, lush and reflective, DOQ nestles trance, breaks and ambient to suspend us in a desert as serene as it is thrilling.
