In 2023, a new private space opened in Madrid with the goal to become a  meeting point purely for the enjoyment and discovery of underground music. Since 2023, Espacio Perpendicular has broadcasted some of its many meetings and recordings on 9128.live. 2024 sees the second season of the programme.

This Thursday we broadcast this set by Yoshitaka Shirakura recorded some months ago, in September 30th, during a wonderful trip to Japan, the label Astral Industries took over the cosy club Bonobo in Tokyo.

This Thursday Lucid Dreams comes back, the event series focus on ambient and experimental sounds taking place always by night where dreams are confused with reality.
This third episode of the series was recorded on November, 2023. "I had the great fortune of playing during the magical hour, starting in the daytime (which isn't very common), only to realize, at the end of the trance, that it was already night. The immersion was deep, and I can't recall details, only the sensation of having been in Temple and accessing other places, opening door after door of sounds, as in a dream. The arrangement of cushions on the floor of Espacio Perpendicular was very apt, allowing us to lie down with our eyes closed and finally see the music clearly, abruptly cutting off the continuous consumption of our energy that visual stimuli usually take. And yet, not ceasing to see beautiful images in our imagination. Many thanks to everyone who gathered there, and infinite thanks for inviting me to be part of something so special."

This week a great encounter thanks to TREVE network, we have the chance to have Sulk Rooms, pseudonym of Yorkshire based composer Thomas Ragsdale, the music of Sulk Rooms draws the link between euphoric electronica and smoke engulfed drones. 
Slow-morphing textures sequence and cascade, encapsulating intimate moments of colliding sound amongst fluttering arpeggios and transcending synth builds.

On May 18th, I had the opportunity to present a live set that is part of my research project, "Registro de vientos menores." This project explores the technologies and materialities of wind and voice through the study and experimentation with various electronic instruments and an aerophone designed specifically for this purpose. The sound of the live performance plays with the tensions and interactions that arise between the organic nature of moving air and its various technological translations over forty minutes of drone. It is a continuous acoustic experience that fluctuates and modulates, avoiding narrative and canonical structures associated with the climax.

Personally, I am very grateful for the invitation and the care of the organizing team, as well as the opportunity to share the lineup with artists whose work I admire. The festival's name, "Temple," makes more sense than ever when you enter Espacio Perpendicular – understood not only as a physical architecture but also a social one. It is a place of respect and encounter, a commitment to valuing listening without mystification, a kind of space of belonging through and by sound.
