Visual artist and composer Jacob Remin channels audio signals from alternate sonic environments on his latest release Choral Transmissions.

Antennae tuned to super slow package transfers. Accumulating for the first years of Lua’s existence. Looming and brewing. Applying silent entropy and a slow pressure to my logic circuits. Seeping slowly, finding their way to the speaker cones.
Densely packed with information. Clearly important, but also unclear. A rigorous scenario through a different pair of ears. Uncompromising and beautiful, weird and thrilling.
A promise of new understandings, through 8 resonant states of being. This is some kind of human audio, compromised by its strange hardware constraints. On record we have a system of explorations, but in terms of anything but the track, it seems distant, detached, almost wrong.
We are sitting on the same shores. Exploring common landscapes through different ears.

Error is information. All attention to detail.

Jacob Remin is an artist and engineer, composer and designer. Central to Remin’s praxis is collaboration and infrastructural critique, with focus on the meeting between late capitalism and the algorithmic potential of internet and computers everywhere.
Remin has exhibited and performed on numerous occasions around Europe, China, the Nordic countries and Russia. Remin has received work and production grants on several occasions from the Danish Arts Council, the Danish Composers Society, the Norwegian Arts Council and more.
Remin is part of the Danish Composers Society and Danish Visual Artists. He holds a BA in Design Engineering from DTU and an MA in Interaction Design from CIID. Jacob Remin lives and works in Copenhagen.

Jaguar
After the animalistic, migratory ventures of Le Règne Animal, the eponymous project of Montreal-based electronic music producer Gabriel Vigliensoni immerses us into the natural habitat of the mythical Panthera Onca.
The mini album presents itself as a concise mix of lush beat-driven tracks where strong swinging rhythmic dreamscapes are layered with shimmering synth sounds and Sprechgesang vocals. Influences from 70s German experimental artists are apparent throughout each track’s rolling soundscapes: circular melodic synth lines, rhythmically oriented vocal utterings, and echoes of lo-fi analog warmth envelop constantly evolving drumming sequences.
Vigliensoni’s exploratory approach to music production takes center stage in this release, giving it a life that transcends the meticulous polish typical of contemporary digital productions. More than the sum of influences or references to past traditions, Jaguar feels like a defiantly personal statement of what is important to Vigliensoni both as an artist and a producer: experimentation, intuition, and self-discovery.

Bio
Gabriel Vigliensoni is a Montreal-based musician and electronic music producer originally from Valparaiso, Chile. He has been involved in a variety of projects all through his lengthy musical career, with roles ranging from instrumentalist to producer and composer. His musical endeavours are informed by extensive studies in sound recording, new musical interfaces, and his current PhD research on musical recommendation algorithms.
Founding member and keyboard player of the notable Chilean rock band Lucybell for their three first albums, Vigliensoni then launched into an extensive portfolio of collaborations with a variety of artists and bands, constantly refining his distinct sound of edgy synth melodies, interlocked rhythms, and sonic experimentation.
Gabriel Vigliensoni’s solo career begins with the release Nata that experiments with techno and breakbeat and features rapper Kevin Sanders and Chilean pop diva Javiera Mena, while subsequent releases explore vocal-driven songs that eschew the standard pop format, relying instead on extended structures, slow beats, and live drum programming.
In his latest venture Jaguar, Vigliensoni intended to bring a feeling of liveness and immediacy to the digital production. His set of musical works escapes the perpetual cycle of correction and re-tooling that plagues the digital workflow and instead intuitively explores the many stages of current music production, hereby transforming the process of making a record into a playground for learning and experimentation.

Techne is a brilliant contemporary experimental pop-dance release structured around the enchanting dyslexic lines of Renata Anaya’s mermaid-like voice anchored to performer and producer Daniel Jeffs' contagious techno foundation with an abyssal bass that springs to the foreground right from the opening of the first track.
Aoraquï reinvents the ancient Greek word techne to make what we safely may call techne music. Knowledgeable and experienced improvisers, Aoraquï presents us with a healing, sonic apparatus that extracts the secrets buried deep inside the human mind. Secrets that have been concealed by our rugged and dizzying contemporary times where dogmatism aspires to be true knowledge and where the human voice is pushed into exasperation and ultimate silence, as lingered on by “…sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown” (TS Eliot, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”).
Originally recorded September 2013 on the quiet shores of the idyllic fishing village Cocholgüe in southern Chile, Techne was almost entirely reassembled in Santiago during the storms of August 2015. While 2016 marks the 400 years since Shakespeare’s death in England, it will also be the year when sweet Ophelia’s voice finally rose dancing, freed and redeemed in that mysterious stripe of land South America called Chile, by the means of Aoraquï’s organic, electronic waters.

For Renata Anaya, music was present from the beginning in her primary school's exceptional focus on the arts on many levels. Later she ventured into jazz and vocal improvisation, to continue studying electroacoustic composition at Paris' Conservatoire Nationale de Pantin, now Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental. For her thesis she investigated traditional forms of singing from around the world as she would discover them in Médiathèque Musicale de Paris’ extensive collection. It is the sum of these influences that has given rise to her very personal and fascinating phonetic singing.
Daniel Jeffs undertook formal studies in guitar and formed part of various rock bands but quickly took interest in the electronic sounds of the 90’s industrial music. This lead him to developed a passionate relationship with this novel musical universe of electronic music and its many genres and sub-genres. But his work was always marked by a preference for experimental dance music, making the party and its never-ending quest for sensory immersion and Dionysian indulgences of primary importance.

Three years after the release of her debut Lydbølgen Af Hjerteslag, the Danish electronic composer Cæcilie Overgaard is ready with her sophomore album, There Is A Home.

“A home is a complex concept. There Is a Home is my living room. It is the place where I feel balanced. It is where all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, revealing a sonic universe that can hold both the light and the darkness – an ability that I have been struggling to regain since a young age. Now I have found that balance,” says the 29-year-old composer.
