We are really pleased to finally put out this release by our friend
Skelesys. His debut on Play Pal is his most personal work to date; a 3 track ep below 100 bpm, just what we love! Top quality on
every single track. Keep an eye on him!

For remix duties we have the absolute killer remix by
Nozz, new alias of an artist well known for everybody (will keep the
mystery around it); The kind of track that gets a club, a festival or
any other place you drop it, on fire, as we've been testing for the last
year. 

Also another welcome to the Play Pal family, one of our favourite artists, Mr Lee Perry aka Peza. We've been wanting to work with him
for quite some time and what a perfect EP to jump in. He keeps the
low bpm atmosphere of the original but adding a mental sequence
that drives the track from beginning to end. Awesome job. 

And last but not least, our beloved Telesketch, completely redoes the track 'This is our final day', our favourite from the three originals by the
way, and does it in a brilliant way. Total different approach,
giving it a deep-ish flavour but maintaining the kind of fat bass line
we can't live without. 

We're very excited with this release! Keep an aye
for what's to come this year!

‘Music from another dimension’ - BBC6 Music

For centuries, music has been used to tell stories. Some of the greatest legends, myths and histories of humanity are written in song. Yet in the present day, it could be argued that the art of storytelling through music is something many have left behind.
This is not the case for Gazel, whose masterfully woven catalogue of songs draw on the Türkü folk music of her Turkish roots, re-imagined with electronic structures and spacey synths in a style she calls ‘Mythopoetic Pop Music’.

Her debut album ‘Gazel’s Book of Souls’ (2019) has been described as a 'magical, joyful collection of music', and 'as if Harry Potter blew off Hogwarts to study psychology'. The release earned her extensive airplay from BBC Radio 6 and led her to open for acts at the Hammersmith Apollo, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Liverpool Sound City and The Jazz Cafe.

Gazel’s new EP ‘Dark Earth’, a collection of Turkish folk songs with English lyrics exploring Jungian and depth-psychological themes, is due for release October 4th 2024.
