LADA marks its 15th anniversary in 2014. We are celebrating with a series of initiatives across the year, including the “15 Minutes With…” podcasts. 

There have been seismic shifts across the landscape of Live Art since LADA was founded in 1999 – from an unprecedented institutional embrace to a resurgence of artist-led initiatives, from a proliferation of performance books to a heightened online presence, from an explosion of practice-based research to the formation of new strategies of creative resistance, to cite but a few.

“15 Minutes With…” is a series of short dialogues with some of the exceptional artists and thinkers that LADA has had the pleasure of working with over the last 15 years.  Using the lens of the Agency and the occasion of our 15th Anniversary, the dialogues will reflect on how critical some of these shifts have been, not only to Live Art, but to the wider culture of the UK.

15 Minutes With…Gary Anderson and Jane Trowell on activism and Live Art

Audio documentation of an evening considering durational performance art with Marilyn Arsem, on Friday 18 April, 2025. 

Across a 100-day period in 2015-16, Marilyn created one hundred different six-hour performances which took place daily in Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. Each of these durational works represented a different inquiry on the nature of time.

For this special event, Marilyn will present an artist talk reflecting on this body of work and sharing her research on performance art and time. Following the talk, there will be a Q&A chaired by curator Joseph Morgan Schofield.

This event is curated by Future Ritual as an extension of their festival CEREMONY, taking place in London between 23rd and 27th April, for which Marilyn Arsem is making a new performance.

CEREMONY is supported with public funds by Arts Council England. Further support towards the project has been given by the Mayor of London.

100 Ways to Consider Time - An Evening with Marylin Arsem

Established in 1999, the Live Art Development Agency has both responded to, and impacted upon, the increasingly influential nature of Live Art practices in the UK and internationally by developing an extensive portfolio of specialized resources, opportunities, projects and publishing activities; and by working strategically, in partnership, and in consultation with practitioners and organisations in the cultural sector. 

This is a platform for LADA to share content and recordings of artists as well as commissioned artworks such as Marcia Farquhar, Jen Harvie, Taylan Halici and many others.
