„I just wanna feel your sweat on my body“ - Miami-based Nala paints erotic pictures on the brute bass beat of Catz ’n Dogz in „Me Me Me“. Hushes, moans and a dark and sultry energy fill the room, melting everyone into one entity of skin and leather that moves in unison.
„Hot Mess“, ups the tempo but keeps the lights low, with flashes of strobe freezing images of bizarre faces in darkest corners of the club, while the priestess Nala speaks her truth in ceremony.
A record like a ritual, it awakens animalistic spirits that we give in to when we find ourselves without thoughts on the dance floor.

On this month’s installment FUTURE FREQUENCIES, Maddy Maia is joined by rising producer Nala.
Just announced as one of the select few Beatport Next 2024 artists, Nala has had an incredible surge of momentum with her viral “Me Me Me” release and co-signs from the biggest names in dance music including Solomun, who recently had her on his Diynamic Art Basel party lineup. She is quickly gaining notoriety as a tastemaker with her Riot Grrrl meets dance floor creative approach, which was sparked by the launch of her own Mi Domina label imprint.

It wasn't until a couple of months ago, that her DJ partner-in-crime Vnssa inspired her to put the track out.

With her encouragement, Nala decided to share this extremely unusual and random ID for free. In addition to the original acid-tinged, Crystal Method-inspired OG remix, she's added a second much more tame house version for those who aren't keen on the whacky world of electro beat.

Spiritual Psychosis was the first song I wrote on my new Moog Sub 37. When writing this track, I went for a indie dance style that was inspired by Soulwax and the Talking Heads. It includes lots of tougher rock synths and some sillier fun ones placed on the backdrop of a classic dance floor club track. Lyrically, the song is about my childhood in Los Angeles. Often times, people move to LA and get sucked into a hyper holistic lifestyle that can become cultish. Alternatively, there's also a sort of dark magic thing going on in this city which causes people to end up in some pretty odd places. The occult and the health obsessed are pretty much embedded into the DNA of this city.

Catz ’n Dogz reunite with their partner-in-rhyme Nala on bold new single, ‘DANCE’ - a high-energy, electro-punk anthem urging listeners to break free, let loose, and move like nobody's watching.

Following the success of their 2024 collaboration, ‘Me Me Me’ on Solomun’s Diynamic imprint - hailed for its genre-crossing DJ support and strong radio presence - the trio return with an unconventional, attitude-driven track designed to channel raw energy and rebellion through the power of movement.
