Golden Pudel Takeover: Nina - 6th October 2018

London-founded collective Circadian Rhythms has long operated at the intersection of art, music, performance and innovation, with its latest conceptual, multimedia release a natural next step for the interesting imprint.

The release in question comes from Spanish-born URL favourite Plata, who last graced the label back in 2015 with his iconic release ‘Kru’. Now, Plata returns with a fierce three-tracker titled ‘Last Dayz’ that was created in response to Plata’s personal journey with mental health disorders and as a form of musical relief. 

‘Last Dayz’ aims to, “emphasise and enhance the listener's appreciation for obtaining and digesting music”, and will land as both a digital release as well as a physical 512mb USB card. The USB will contain the three-track EP as well as a licensed Plata.Solutions extractor in order for loyal listeners to gain access to some very special secret content only available within the physical format…

Today however, we’re premiering lead cut ‘I Can’t Sleep’. In typical Plata style the track mutates dark with light as Plata creates an atmospheric, emotional bass production that utilises the sweetness of crooning r‘n’b alongside icy trademarks of grime and other low-end heavy genres.

Premiere: Plata 'I Can't Sleep'

Over the coming months, Unsound will release a series of recordings made at the Krakow festival, including DJ sets and live shows. 

This first is a recording from Slikback, a young Kenyan producer who played for the first time in Europe at Unsound. The recording is from his first of three shows in Kraków, at @szpitalna1. Affiliated to Uganda’s Nyege Nyege and their sublabel Hakuna Kulala, Slikback only started producing 18 months ago, but has so far has made more than 400 tracks including everything that you hear here. This includes a final track that he made just the day before, inspired by the music he'd heard during the preceding days at Unsound! The mix also features a track by Ogniki, his collaborative project with Morgiana Hz (@karolina_karnacewicz), and an opening remix of an upcoming release by Turning Jewels Into Water. 

Slikback is an original voice at the start of what looks set to be a long career - we can’t wait to hear where he goes next!

You all remember 'Teachers' by Daft Punk, right? 

Sure you do, they paid homage to the acts that changed the game musically. A lot more music has been released since then and that's where Mumdance & Logos come in.

Source Direct, DJ Die, Fabio & Grooverider, Surgeon and James Ruskin are just a few of the artists that get a shout out in their homage to the original banger.

This version is a gnarly, electro excursion and appears as part of Mumdance's amazing, upcoming 'Shared Meanings' compilation which drops on November 23.

There's also a release party at Oval Space on the same day featuring Speedy J, Doc Scott b2b DJ Storm, Dopplereffekt (live), Lee Gamble and of course, Mumdance & Logos.
