Eyetone present their most ambitious release to date with the introduction of Pink Murder; a synth-pop trio band hailing from Brooklyn/NYC consisting of Michael Panico of Stargazy, Gregory Henits of Folding Legs and Vita and The Woolf’s Jennifer Pague.
Inspired by Brian Eno and David Byrne’s pioneering 1981 collaboration of ‘My Life in the Bush of Ghosts’ and early 80′s period Talking Heads, Pink Murder’s music is a tight package of synth-laced island vibes made from live instrumentation and electronic production; intriguingly syncopated and textured, in pure 80's disco pop style, but better. Effortlessly layered on top of it all lies Pague’s deliciously watery, almost saccharine and Florence like vocal.
Demi learnt of Pink Murder through Greg Henits and his work on Folding Legs. A quick rapport between the two developed and what followed was a plan to re-release the band’s lead single Fresh & Made on Eyetone but with a reconstructed mix of the original by the label owner himself. Drawing from all his DJ experience to enhance every aspect of their blissfully summer slice of pop music, Fresh and Made sounds better than ever with its delicately extended opening sequence; Carefree it floats, caressing the sky as it is buffeted on calm gusts of rhythm and melody, carrying you with it on a sun-drenched journey to wherever the universe will take it.
Pague’s entrance becomes even more prominent in this rework with just the soft drums and eerie pad sitting behind thus giving the song an indie feel before the bass tones then bring back the soul as her vocals soar above you. As the song progresses to its chorus there is one final twist in Demi’s edit with the stripped back chorus section which again puts Pague firmly on centre stage.
The synth lines dance like dragonflies amongst reeds as Pague’s vocals drift effortlessly as a silk scarf lost to the gentle breeze. Like its name, it still feels fresh and wonderful, a gorgeous waft of warmth and well-being, enriching and soothing like an elixir for the soul. As you listen you just want to lay back, give a big sigh of contentment and peace as the sun shines down and you can just relax and let the world carry on without you.

We can't tell you who is behind Solardo, other than that it's a duo, one of the members has a long and deep history in very, very different schools of electronic music, and they've just launched the Solä label for their new sound. Provenance is irrelevant, though, when you push up the volume on this track, which, true to its name is a bubbling analogue jam full of Italo groove and Jean-Michel Jarre drama. There's big ambition at work here.

Tigerbalm - The 80s (Oscar P Remix)

Isolée's long and celebrated discography has taken him from seminal microhouse compositions, through lush, deep and dubby productions, to the melodically rich sound design of 2013 mindblowing Allowance. Any of this would be a tough act to follow, but the seasoned Hamburg talent takes it in his stride once again, looking firmly towards the future while paying tribute to all chapters of the past with the brand new two-tracker, Floripa EP. The title track Floripa' begins to take its form around a thick and dub-drenched bassline that moves and morphs with fluidity, as tiny percussive elements orbit around an instant-classic synth melody that appeals directly to the heartstrings. The track's midsection showcases airy, spatial sound wizardry, with shimmering cosmic riffs on the core melodic phrase that cement its anthemic status, the latter third then subtly shifts gears again, amplifying the bottom end, and rooting it into a deep, urgent groove. B-side Favouride' begins to unfold with metallic percussive accents and spectral, voice-like synths that immediately establish the track's deep blue mood. A minor-key bass chord and windswept pads maintain the atmosphere throughout the track's mid-tempo, slow-burn progression. Smooth and sleekly produced, yet introspective and complex, the multi layers of rhythm and melody combine here for extra emotional impact.

Khruangbin is a three-piece band from Texas, formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums. Taking influence from 1960's Thai funk - their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai - Khruangbin is steeped in the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspiration, Tarantino soundtracks and surf-rock cool. Khruangbin's exotic, individual sound is captured at their spiritual home, a remote barn deep in the Texas countryside where their first rehearsals took place. Debut album ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’ is scheduled for release at the end of this year.

Leave A Trace (Four Tet Remix)

On the heels of last year's "Moon Temple" EP, Throne of Blood co-founders Vito & Druzzi return with the two floor-ready vocal house jams featuring Xavier, a veteran vocalist best known for his brilliant version of "Gimme the Night" by George Benson released on erstwhile NYC disco imprint, A Touch of Class Recordings.

Road tested everywhere from Brooklyn clubs to Electric Elephant festival, "It's EZ" and "Deep Into It" deliver the goods, from hands-in-the-air hooks to speaker rattling bass and emotive keys. This is modern dancefloor house music rooted in classic 90s vibes.

Longtime friend of the label and Delft Records founder LA-4A strips "It's EZ" down, dropping short loops of Xavier's vocals over a massive acid line. With precious little of the original instrumental in evidence, he delivers some straight-up machine funk for big dance floors. For her remix of "Deep Into It" Mexican upstart Lokier builds upon recent releases for Have A Killer Time and Viall as well as her new collaboration with Morgan Hammer as She Makes Monster. Her version is a dislocating miasma of synths and drums, amping up the psychedelia and drug chug atmosphere.

The digital version of "It's EZ" also features a dub version of "Deep Into It" courtesy of Druzzi that pitches down Xavier's falsetto and transmutes the track into a raw cut reminiscent of Motor City Drum Ensemble's best productions.
