Mirroring an already essential underground party, the WAK imprint debuts with an instantaneous three-tracker from LA native, producer and DJ, Tahl. Entitled ‘Yours Truly’, each track offers a physical, personal portal across the spectrum of Tahl’s sonic influences, from the sugary excesses of a trance-indebted rave scene half a lifetime ago, to a decade immersed at the cutting-edge of electronic music in Berlin.

The precision-tooled techno groove of ‘Track Servant’ lays down Tahl’s vision with immediate effect, constantly oscillating from rhythmic seduction to an edging explosion of buzzsaw synthesis, impressing every bit of tension from a deeply effective arrangement.

Contrasting authentic psychedelia and pitch-black drum programming, ‘Giddy Geidi’ leans further into darkness, but finds a luminescent melody that offsets dystopia with a more light-hearted delirium.
