Anjunadeep warmly welcome duo Leaving Laurel for their debut 'sometimes it’s scary…but it’s still just you and me / Need Little, Want Less’.

Leaving Laurel is a tale of two old friends Gordon & Pierce; connecting musically for the first time after being close friends for almost a decade. Inspired by recording into an old, thought to be broken, cassette tape player, a new project materialised seemingly out of thin air - something neither of them knew they were looking for.

Leaving Laurel's ‘Need Little, Want Less’ features harmonies evocative of Kiasmos and Tycho, whilst their production culminates in cinematic soundscapes reminiscent of Jon Hopkins in 'sometimes it’s scary…but it’s still just you and me’.

Out January 10th, Leaving Laurel’s inaugural release provides the bedrock for 2020, ahead of a hotly-anticipated track on Anjunadeep 11 and more exciting music to come.

UK-based producer Che-Yung’s enchanting 4-track ‘Heal’ EP is the perfect selection of sonic offerings to alleviate listener’s woes in these uncertain times. The title track juxtaposes airy synths with a deep and raw bassline, lacing in delicate piano chords and bird samples. ‘Before’ is an atmospheric creation, using soaring vocals and scintillating synths to help provide peace of mind in a charming arrangement. ‘Freshwater’ is a soothing cut, which places reverberating synths upon a gentle bassline and includes touching vocal samples and encouraging claps. Closing the EP with an upbeat creation, Che-Yung delivers a mood enhancing number in the shape of ’New Dopamine’. Complete with shuffling percussion, breezy synths and an uplifting energy, this EP is a sublime debut on Purified Records.

PhYnee started his electronic music dive at a young age playing guitar and songwriting with MIDI. Over time, his sound developed and began exploring intricate melodies and textures. In 2019, Ben Böhmer label Ton Topferei released his debut track "Blurry" on the Keramik II compilation, and Lane 8 included new tunes in the Fall 2019 Mixtape. His “Nitrogen“ EP got support from Nora en pure, Luttrell and Eelke Kleijn.
