Odd One Out requires me to sometimes release records that are a bit...odd. So after the 2 first releases I decided it’s time to unleash a hint of Gouda. The track asks ”Is This Trance?” and is fuelled by some gargantuan bouncy saw riffs that I picked up from my 13-year old brain which at the time was listening to Southside Spinners and Gatecrasher compilations. Slightly slower and more mature, like some of my favourite cheeses are, this is quite close to musical Gorgonzola with some hedonistic grapes.

The first extended mix to emerge from Spencer Brown’s sophomore mix album ‘Stream of Consciousness’, progressive burner (and album closer) ‘Womaa’ now sees a full release on Anjunabeats, produced with Wilt Claybourne.

Spencer goes in further in depth about the story behind the track: “One of my best friends from university, Will, and I made this track in beautiful Carmel, California in early 2019. During this session, I felt my father’s calm presence in the room as well as the exhilaration of falling in love with somebody. The combination of love for family, friends, and my significant other heavily inspired the track.”

Spencer Brown’s new mix album ‘Stream of Consciousness’ is available to buy or stream now, with CD copies and an exclusive poster bundle available on the Anjuna Music Store. Finnish DJ and producer Yotto has become an Anjunadeep legend since making his debut on the label in 2015. Winning huge support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard, Otto Yliperttula quickly rose to prominence with his energetic melodic house sound. His debut album ‘Hyperfall’, released in late 2018 reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance Album Chart, and saw him tour the world and play at Coachella. Since then Yotto has established his own label, Odd One Out, putting out a string of club cuts supported by the likes of Tale Of Us, Artbat and Eric Prydz.

Over a year since his last solo release on Anjunadeep, Yotto now makes a welcome homecoming with ‘Another Riff For The Good Times / Daydreaming’. Demonstrating his flair with uplifting melodies, ‘ARFTGT’ is classic Yotto, whilst the restrained ‘Daydreaming’ is a highlight from the recent chart topping compilation ‘Anjunadeep 11’.
