new rules

First mix from phonon~ swarming show on @ma3azef radio introduces a close encounter with the music mycelium around Snediggen Snurssla and the AVA collective. 

The composition is a collage of raw unprocessed field recordings, sound interventions in space, improvisation with objects, as well as cooperations, jams, and yet unreleased production from the AVA collective members and collaborators, including several records to be released in 2022.

Inside you will find experimental electronics with overlaps into broken irregular rhythms, mindance music, tranc(e), psychedelia, polyrhythmia, interspatial vibrations and fractal mechanics of nature and the mechanics of civilization. Snediggen calls it "weightless" and "nobpm" club music, or "fourth world music".

For the mixtape, Snediggen relies on his own methodology, which he calls "clefts/situations", and other practises from the author's workshops: active listening, intervention in the sound environment, improvisation, collective sound meditation, etc.

Main premises:

- Activation to listen to the environment: We are all co-authors of the sound composition around us and can actively shape it;
- Activation to create our own (collective and internal) safe-spaces in the city: We can easily create our own safe "situation" in a "crack" anywhere in our everyday urban experience and we can crawl into and create a safe space there.
- Therapy: all the sound approaches described have therapeutic and emancipatory potential.

Emerging from Brno's respected institutions of AVA collective and Bastl Instruments, Thistle is an improvised conversation between Matěj Kotouček and Simo Hakalisto. Language in use: hypnotic drone, electronics and field recordings. Their first release for Stoned to Death is an album called Teleopsia, ticking at around 30 minutes, it has the perfect ability to induce trance to any open ears. Teleopsia is released digitally and on limited tape release (70 copies).

Thistle's Matěj Kotouček is previously known for his live electronics / drums duo Sky to Speak, he is currently playing solo as Loops of Decay and working in Prague's NOISE.KITCHEN, a synth laboratory. Simo Hakalisto is finish film maker, he is also active in projects Shakali and Gnäw, releasing music through outfits such as Ikuisuus or Cruel Nature.
