Initially thought of as a journey into heartbreak and burning desire, there quickly was only one way to go when the needle dropped. Numero 111 w/ Michael Ellis - Valentine's Special

Mory Kanté is an African singer from Guinee. His father ‘El Hadj Djelifode’ was tribal chief of the ‘Griots’, he had 38 children and died at an age of 109. In 1987 Mory Kanté scored a world hit with his song ‘yéké yéké’, which was later remixed and played a lot by Richie Hawtin. ‘Le Griot’ is an extremely danceable African disco gem which was released in 2001 within his album ‘Tamala’. Play it loud and enjoy!
