I was having a flu with fever, so I could think of only 1 thing : MORE COWBELL !!!... .. .

Sunrise Waves Rolling Thunder

I don't know the name of the artists or players involved so this is just a demo of my mix work. The files were given to me to understand and help a client friend in his own work. I liked it enough I treated it to a mix with at least one common specification: use one DAW and its stock plugins. I work in Logic so it was a walk down the now-unfamiliar path of that system's plugins to do things that I do with other paid plugins. I think it turned out alright for a day's work using tools I don't use so extensively anymore.

The exercise for me was less in mixing and more in seeing how to focus on using the tracks that arrived. I didn't play anything but I took plenty of liberties mostly subtracing elements that were provided in a quest to see what really seemed most necessary, while also making it so the song kept evolving as it played. There is about two more minutes' worth of ride out material that was kind of cool but didn't hold up to longer scrutiny and got a bit busy on the wrong instruments. So in service to the song, clarity, concision, and brevity won out.
