Coming all the way from Tel-Aviv via Istanbul, T-Puse and Menachem 26 join up for their inaugural drop on A Tribe Called Kotori with their lush and chugging collaborative debut, "Stav". Blending in the swaying roll of classic Middle-Eastern folk with processed club artillery, the pair develop a sound that pays a honest and forward-pushing tribute to the area's time-withstanding harmonics, throwing their all in casting a more modern light on secular musical tropes and reconfiguring them into vivid, EBM-oriented club material that lacks neither oomph nor soul, that is for sure.

Breaking the EP in, "Agafay" beckons us onto a hybrid pathway, astride tensile body workout wares and more oneiric-flavoured off-piste. As altered caravan rock riffs collide with snake charmers' melodies, further emphasis is laid on the potent but nimble bass which coordinates the groove to correspondingly hypnotic effect. All in opaque contours and brooding trompe-l'oeil at first, "Stav" treats us to a myrrh-scented bouquet of 21st century-ready bazaar churn, switching over lithely from steel-clad sturdiness to silken oriental belly-dance sensuality, via hi-impact techno bites and graceful electro muscle. Geared up for total floor-sweeping action, T-Puse & Menachem's maiden offering singles itself out as a precious DJ weapon, whether you opt for the opener's quirky swagger or the lead-single's eruptive voltage.

Their distinctive treatment of vocals marks their tracks out instantly, nowhere more so than on ‘Nothing Around Us’, with the cyber voice of the young Italian artist Lyke. The top quality production and original sound continue with the more understated ‘22’ and end with another prime example of Mathame’s vocal work, ‘Fade Into You’. In the last two years, D-Malice has been far from absent in the underground music scene as seen through his successful remix of PAMLFooD's Mitende that came out earlier this year. 

Entitled 'Minesweeper', this track undeniably exhibits his musical talents in producing high energy sounds with character. Aggressive drops immersed in stems that are bound fill the dance floors of venues where played. We anticipate an EP to follow this from this afro-house veteran.

AIWASKA is the secretive alter ego of a very well-known, festival-familiar, Russian producer. Located in Los Angeles, his project has received big support from the Burning Man community and Damian Lazarus — who is set to release some of his music via Crosstown Rebels. Performing his live + guitar and DJ sets (and videos) in a feathered black outfit, Stetson-style hat and slightly scary mask, he shrouds his identity in a fitting level of mystique to match his enigmatic, brooding sounds.

‘Medicine’ is another beautiful track to emerge from this much-talked-about project, finding its home on Exploited Ghetto. A nagging synth arpeggio rising from depths of chunky-yet-spacious, chugging beat. Hovering bass tones soon arrive to bolster this dark melody, teeing up the gentle, yearning male vocal that forms the core of the track.

Somewhere a spinning coin creates a resonant metallic buzz. A sword is drawn in the distance, drenched in reverb. Shimmering splashes of wet synth and slow-rising pulses of pads, forming a loose musical conversation between four disparate parts.. Less is more when it comes to this hypnotic arrangement. The breakdown takes things down to a near-ambient level of unhurriedness, creating the requisite tension and release for the drop. Many producers would do well to learn from the great sense of space in this wonderous track.

The video for ‘Medicine’ features Russian Model Alesya Kafelnikova — the daughter of former world number 1 Russian tennis player Yevgeny Kafelnikova. It’s just another bizarre twist in the wonderful world of AIWASKA, where not all is as it seems...

The tree has been worshipped as Abode under which Lord Dattatreya teaches that to teach first you’ve to learn from others however small or big. There is always something to be learnt from One and to learn new things one has to learn to unlearn as per the time. T-Puse and Noble Spirits are travelers of the most precious dreams.
