Rehearsing one of my favourite songs, experimenting with where to add harmonies. A form of consolation to calm my own mind. I feel very much home in these lyrics. I grew up by a river and just like that river I've been running ever since.

Playing another favorite. In between sample hoarding, sound design, updating instruments, troubleshooting, watching tutorial videos... Well you get the point. I also spend some time, obviously, playing some of my favorite songs, imaginging that I am improving my lacking piano skills along the way.
Bon iver, and its frontman Justin Vernon was a late find in my life. It was the last time I was floored by a piece of music.

I’ve had this idea for a while where I wanted to put some orchestral hybrid music together with landscape images from Norway. It is a gift to some friends abroad, hopefully enticing them to come visit sooner. Yes of course, post corona, I hear you.

Figuring out what to leave out is not something I have mastered yet, cause I just wanna add more and more sounds. I started with a chord sequence repeating using a Spitfire Audio orchestra library. Having something musically interesting ‘enough’ I start adding different instruments. I’m not much of an illustrator, but it does feel a bit like painting with audio. i cannot leave everything in, I must say no to some sounds. Saying no also implies saying yes to something else. Unless you say no to everything and just sit there in a quiet room but I don’t think that would pass as music. What I am trying to accomplish is having some musically interesting idea evolve with sounds over time. My biggest problem mixing was controlling the drummer [yes yes, snare sounds like ****].
