Ozan Karatasli discovered his affinity for music at a young age. By the time he was 14, he was already well versed with a variety of music genres and his library was ever growing. In 2006 he started his career by DJing at many different clubs. Wanting to elevate his DJing performance, he attended and completed his training at Pioneer Pro DJ Academy in 2009. He has been DJing professionally ever since, currently residing and working in Cesme/izmir.

About this edit :
In the mid 90s when I was 16 years old, a home tape recorded with music by Wu Tang Clan came into my life, from that moment on this sound with breaks, soul, jazz, funk, hiphop revolutionized my way of appreciating music.
Today, thanks to slow sounds, I find the opportunity to integrate and share this tribute to what has been the music of the future.

After sampling him on my track Ekara Po, here is an edit of one of my favorite songs of african electronic music pioneer Francis Bebey. He is one of my heroes, a true inspiration, and his "Sanza Tristesse" is a song that can literally make me cry from melancholy and sadness. But it is at the same time a heartwarming tune calling for love and joyful memories of lost ones, a soothing song for our fragile human hearts. And it made me think, why not bring these ambivalent emotions on a dance floor, as dancing puts you in special receptive moods? I hope you will hear my love for this song, enjoy!

The intereference between the original and the new version fits the atmosphere and the versatility of my Amour De Vacances nights all that well. These all nighter sessions in my beloved bars of Budapest (Nemdebár and Telep) are about wild mood swings and radical genre twists in flawless or even shaky but always freely mixing flow. If you are okay with the reminiscence of 80/90’s productions, dreamy harmonies, ridiculous romantic or freaky themes in the mix of deep and dubby house, original new wave digs, cheesy italo licks, sick acid disko, obscure electronics and beyond here is a long one for your enjoyment. This is taken from a recording of a night at Telep in April this year.

THE DOORS - THE END (GULIVERT REWORK)

Late night rework....

The Doors and Jim Morrison's psychedelic vibe and atmosphere is a big inspiration. Ever since watching 'Apocalypse Now' iv'e been very much in love with this track 'The End'.

When i started working with this track i wanted to keep as much of the original vibe as possible with a more dj-friendly approach incorporated mainly with the beat. I did some research on their producer Paul Rothchild and The Doors vocalist Jim - their techniques, mindset and way of thoughts. After reading a couple of articles and interviews i stumbled upon an interview were Rothchild describes how 'The End' was made.

I found out to my surprise they had been jamming without Jim for a while and when he came to the studio they turned out all the lights off everything except hardware gear. I wanted to copy this specific atmosphere and vibe as much as possible, listening to a lot of various The Doors music and also switching off all the lights in my studio except some chill candlelights and a dark ableton skin on my monitor. Haha.

I hope i managed to keep at least some of the vibe, energy and atmosphere from the original without moving the track too much in another direction.
