When you listen to an Industrialyzer track, it doesn’t take long to figure out where his name comes from. These are soundscapes that instantly transport you someplace else, built for cavernous warehouses where regular rules don’t apply. The Portugal-born, Amsterdam-based producer born Ricardo Rodrigues maintains his consistent form on the Moonstone EP with four slamming tracks made for these very conditions.
The title track Moonstone beats you into oblivion with a relentless kick, distorted vocals relaying an urgent directive – “let’s get high” – and scuzzy, whipping synths. On Kontrol peals of synth cut through a thick mist of white noise and the ever-present kick, while one word, stuck on repeat, suggests the best kind of loss of “control”. Daily Nova is a more vibrant track, with housey chords laid over a pulsing beat to create a feeling of delicious unease. And on Psychic Overlays, Rodrigues wades back into darker waters in a pummelling peak time cut and assault on the senses. These are four pumping tracks perfect for sweaty techno bunkers.

Wrapping up the year with impressive releases, FLUG aka SEBASTIAN LOPEZ is the curator of this incredible selection, throwing the listener into a galloping universe made of warehouse anthems, pick-time rollers and old-school tools. The Argentinian’s track “THE PIANO” was techno number one for six consecutive months, so label boss Marco Faraone thought that after this outstanding result he was the perfect artist to collect this new musical journey sharing his personal music message. Having a solid career in what he truly loves he released music on many established techno labels like Nina Kraviz’s “TRIP”, Dustin Zahn’s “Enemy Records” and his own record label “Existentia” launched this year. Welcome 2021!

KUSP joins Rekids Special Projects with the rumbling ‘Freedom Of Fear EP’ this January.

The KUSP project, formed of two friends rekindling their love for electronic music, has seen the duo release on the likes of Suara, We Are The Brave, and Odd Recordings since 2018, picking up heavy support from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Charlotte De Witte, Adam Beyer, and of course Radio Slave along the way.

Across ‘Freedom of Fear’, KUSP display their knack for crafting high intensity, uncompromising techno, perfectly fitting the criteria for the heavier Rekids sister label. From the evil-sounding ‘Circulus’ through to the grinding textures of ‘Xerox’, the duo never strays from the tried and test 4/4 across the five tracks, amassing a crushing array of dancefloor weaponry on a vital label breathing fresh ideas into the world of techno.
