Pro Tone Pedals sent me this sweet Overdrive to check out a few weeks ago. I've tried out a lot of different Tubescreamer type pedals in the past and this pedal absolutely slays; it is essentially a Tubescreamer on steroids. I use this pedal in front of my Axe Fx II to tighten up my tone and add clarity to the low end, which is especially great if you tune low. A trip hop instrumental with some influences from genres such as alternative rock and contemporary classical, Genesis is my virgin foray into the world of instrumental music. Experimenting with electronic elements, the song tries to find a balance between the digital and the live human energy.

Genesis

The first original, Get It Right, is a jab at the struggles of living in a fast paced city such as Singapore. Where paper chasers are aplenty, the song reminds us that failure is not something to be ashamed of, but to be embraced instead. And to not let societal pressures and expectations push you into uncomfortable places, especially when you have not found yourself a solid footing to stand on. If you like the rhythm and beat that you step to, then don't tip toe. Stomp on it.

I like to read books. Novels, especially airpot novels. Those fast paced, easy to read, devoured within a day kind of novels. They're like the Macdonalds' of books and novels. They're not exactly literary pieces of art, but they get it done. They fill your mind with obnoxious plots that can span entire continents. Or that all governments are bad and trying to kill all the good guys that all look like Tom Cruise. 

I also like Neil Gaiman's Good Omens. Funny piece of Brit humour, that. 

I have a reading guilty pleasure. I like reading Artemis Fowl. I like the fantasy of being rich, and magically endowed. Like woah money and power. Ain't that the shit? 

Alas, we live on a mortal plane. Reality is what we see, and what we believe is what we feel. There's no doubt about that.
