It was originally performed at a funeral for Roy Husky Junior who died at a young age. Then, Steve Earle put it on the record "The Mountain" which he performed it with The Del McCoury Band. If you haven't listen to that record yet, go ahead and listen to it because it's a bluegrass record and it is one of the few bluegrass records that Steve Earle has released and I think that it is a really good record to listen to!
