Third installment of 'Monthly Journal' living album project.
The cover picture is an inverted image that came together while killing time with matches on a table at a cafe in Amsterdam while on tour in the Netherlands duringthe first week of March. Just as I took the photo someone opened the door and a wind blew it all apart.


March Winds

 His evolving 'band' of self-made sound sculptures include a motorized drum machine made of bike wheels called 'Mother Superior' and a souped up Gramophone called 'The Hornicator'.

He crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, and a lifelong obsession with things lunar, including various reasons 'Why Dogs Howl at The Moon'. His nine studio LPs include highly-rated covers album 'Songs From The Films Of David Lynch'.  

Other notable supporters and collaborators have included Jarvis Cocker, Duke Special, James Konopinski Smith of Yard Act, Richard Hawley, Bob Log III, the Dresden Dolls and the late author Terry Pratchett. Currently he’s finishing off a 2022 album release that features drummer Budgie of the Slits, Siouxsie & The Banshees et al.


On Soundcloud in 2011, The Monthly Journal album was a living, mutating organism taking place in twelve intervals over a year. Tracks were informed by any number of things: the vibe, feeling, texture, atmosphere of the changing seasons, the expanding and contracting lengths of days and nights, weather, news, dreams, personal or world events as they unfolded. Songs were produced and released within the window of each month.
