Iash is a piece written for clarinet, violin, trombone, tuba, and tambourine. It is heavily influenced by the klezmer style of playing, and is inspired the relationship of Irene Adler and Sherlock Holmes. The playful chemistry between the two are represented by the relationship between the clarinet and the violin. The piece is in three distinct sections. It begins with a violin solo, representing the exposition of Sherlock Holmes. Then, the main theme is introduced, wherein the clarinet takes the lead - representing Irene Adler at the center of Holmes' mind. Following the main theme is a second solo section wherein both the clarinet and violin are featured. Their solos begin to intertwine as the character's become more involved in their relationship with each other. The main theme is then brought back at the end featuring the clarinet, symbolizing Sherlock Holmes being outsmarted by Irene Adler.
