Them & Us

Them & Us is a new musical currently set for production in early 2020.

The musical tells the story of two working class women and neighbours in Lancashire during the second world war, their friendship and contrasting ability to come to terms with the departure of their significant others throughout Britains deployment in Europe.

The demo track presented is done so in the following context :  May Winfield, the hardier of the two neighbouring ladies has, up until this point, been presented as having a no-nonsense approach to the departure of her husband Ron. She has been left to carry on the household and continue her full time job whilst looking after their son John, 16.   In the latter half of the first act, May receives a letter from Ron detailing his nonchalance to the plight of the women expected to make Britain continue to run and ends his letter ‘Don’t go anywhere whilst I’m away, Much Love, You’re Ron.’   The ensuing song is a rebuttal to Ron’s letter as well as a confession of frustration from May.
