A cover of Colin Hay's "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You", recorded in December 2012 for my grandmother's memorial service. She had enjoyed me playing it over the phone once during her last months, and it seemed an appropriate contribution in lieu of my flying across the Atlantic.

Demo/rough recording of a song I'm actually rather proud of writing. It's much harder to write upbeat than doom and gloom. A bedroom effort, circa 3am, guitar DIed/miked and an SM57 on the vox.

The Bitter End - Placebo Cover (2010)

A quick little cover of the incredible "Still" by The Japanese House, recorded about a year ago. Late night, just an SM57 on vox, singing quietly to not disturb the neighbours, and electro-acoustic DI/ Zoom R16 condensers.

Still (The Japanese House) [Rough Cover]

A rather rough-round-the-edges cover of a brilliant tune from the Kozelek project/Red House Painters LP "Songs For A Blue Guitar". Had been dying to have a crack at this, even a quick play with the tune, for a while, and was able to with the help of the inimitable Elle Gauld.

Terribly managed spill between vocal mics, a hurriedly recorded and far from ideal acoustic guitar part, looped, and a quick attempt at replicating a pedal steel without even going for a slide... this is far from perfection territory. But, for a couple takes over cocktails in my bedroom, it's not terrible either. The female vox are great - and it's the harmony that makes this song.
