The instrumental version of my newest composition, a tone poem about peace.  I have not had the opportunity to record it yet, so it's all sound samples.  I've learned a lot while doing this.

Quartet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon

What is a fugue? Basically, it's when you have multiple instruments or "voices" that come in at different times, with the same melodic subject, but in different keys. Once all the voices are in, it's all about how they interact with each other - there is no melody with accompaniment, but rather, each voice is an independent melody.

Sometimes, to make things more interesting, a composer will take the subject and increase or decrease the length of the notes or the size of the intervals, flip the subject upside-down, or even play it backwards.
