Another sort of Explosions style post-rock anthem, this one has a little more get up and go. There are two memories that stick out about this song:  us cracking up and loving Jason's "doorbell" sound at the beginning of the song and how Erin's piano part totally changed the bridge.

This is one of the first instrumental songs I wrote. It's got a very Explosions in the Sky feel to it, but I like the melodies and the break at the bridge.

If this track sounds weird, there's a good reasons, and I think it's best to just put it out there in the open. We recorded it way to fast and slowed it down in post. So the cleaner sections sound a little warbly. I can't tell whether I love it or hate it, but in retrospect we should have just tracked with the click. All the same, I love this song; the ending is super epic, and Jason and Erin's flourishes really helped with making this one have more feeling.

Ever since hearing the Minibosses, I've kinda wanted to be in a video game cover band. Some friends of mine and I are talking about putting one together, so I thought I'd post my first demo: a note for note (mostly) cover of the Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. There are way more things going on in this song than I thought there were when I started tracking. I don't know about the ability to fully realize this song with a 4-piece band, but it was a blast to take it apart and learn all the pieces.

I had so much fun doing the Green Hill Zone demo that I decided to do another one of my favorites: Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The bassline in this song is so cool, and it was a blast to learn it and play it. This one had less parts to learn than Green Hill Zone, but the parts were a lot harder to learn and get right.

My friend Jason asked me to make this one, and I got the itch. This is from one of my favorite indie games Cave Story, which was created by one guy over 5 years. He did everything, from the music to the environments, even going as far as to make all the sounds from scratch.

This is a cover I did of the opening from one of my favorite games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. It's very simple and peaceful, and I like that. Also, my volume pedal needs some WD40 real bad, so you might hear some squeaks coming from it on the "strings" tracks. Oops.
