First song I ever wrote for my now wife. I was still relatively new to the recording arts so this was my first post-college foray into home digital recording. It was the first time I ever did something not as an assignment while at Berklee with background vocals. Wasn't my thing at the time but now I can't bear to write songs with BGV. 

When You're Away

A studio orchestra recording of my arrangement of Vince Guaraldi's Christmas Time Is Here. The musicians sight-read the music so it's recording perfection but I still love it when it comes up on random on my Christmas playlists.

Christmas Time Is Here

An original composition for string ensemble. Written for 2 violins, 1 viola, 2 cello, 1 bass (I think) and triple-tracked in a studio. Since I knew I was going into the studio with musicians sight-reading my music, I decided to write something not so complex but rather focus on expression and dynamics. I can't not think of some saddening scene from a black & white war movie when this comes on shuffle.

Miles Away

Pop ballad combining sequenced parts and performed acoustic parts. I've always like the groove and song in general...not my greatest performance, but I still enjoy it.

This was written for an assignment while in college and I decided to challenge myself in writing a song not from my perspective. So naturally I wrote a song from the perspective of a girl utterly in love.

I love the simple ballad; always have, always will. I wrote this song for my now wife while we were dating long distance. Demo quality at best, the vocals and guitars were all first takes just to get the idea down. My closest musician friends can attest that vocal intonation is probably my biggest weakness and this is an outstanding example of it. Enjoy it nonetheless.

Come My Way

I was asked to write a song for a friend's wedding and this is what came out. The bride and groom provided their love story to me in their own words and I felt a Disney-style ballad was the sound.
