With this release RotRaum brings two massive techno pieces on a yellow colored oneside 12". "Rough Sine" by Eric Kanzler is a dark tech track with a groovy rollin´ bassline and an incisive snyth. Thomas Wesers "90 Degress" is even more uncompromising: athmospheric and moody detroit techno.

Friends of Xerud geistern schon eine längere Zeit durch die Gehirne der Hörer im regional hessischen Raum und propagieren dabei die Co-Existenz von Gitarren und Elektronik, auch wenn sie dadurch nicht einfach zugeordnet werden können. Sie selbst bezeichnen ihre Musik als „Alienated Rock“ bei dem universelle Rhythmik sowie die Vermittlung von Emotionen im Vordergrund stehen, und die Tendenzen zu alternativen Rockelementen eindeutig erkennbar sind. Es geht darum, die elektronischen und körperlichen Schwingungen vom Proberaum auf die Bühne zu bringen und auf die Zuhörer zu übertragen. Rhythmus, Stakkato Riffs, elektronische Soundlandschaften, pumpender Bass, fordernder, weiblicher Gesang. Das alles beansprucht und findet seinen Platz im Friends Of Xerud..schen Kosmos.

Für Produzenten ausschließlich elektronischer Musik ist dieser Sound natürlich immer wieder eine Herausforderung, aber auch eine willkommene Abwechslung die interessante neue Möglichkeiten birgt, gerade was den Remix-Bereich anbelangt. Thomas Weser und Matthias Springer stellten sich nun dieser Herausforderung und transportierten die zwei der Tracks in hiesige elektronische Gefilde.

„1000 Gods“ wurde nun von Thomas Weser neu interpretiert und resultiert daher in einer Mischung aus minimalen Klängen und einem treibenden Techhouse-Groove. Die ursprünglichen Elemente des Tracks wurden dabei dezent in den neuen Klangteppich eingearbeitet und bieten bei jedem weiteren Hören erneute interessante akustische Akzente.

Matthias Springer nahm sich mit seinem Aksutique-Projekt dem Track „Medusa“ an und gibt hierbei direkt sein Debut im Drum´n Bass Sektor, wobei ein episches Werk entstand, wobei die ursprüngliche Bassline, Gitarrenriffs und Vocals in ein treibend perkussives Erlebnis transformiert wurden.

In 1980, I was born in Bautzen (Germany). In my early youth the upheaval in the GDR had brought the unification with the Federal Republic of Germany. It meant that there was a spirit of optimism everywhere. The fascination for the New had no limits on creativity and technological advancement with all its innovations have brought new standards of music production. The activism within the music industry sprayed the touch of a revolution and paved the rise of electronic music.

This kind of music I took in my heart. In 1997 I began to employed with it and learned how to mix vinyl. In all that time until now my sounds developed further and the fusion of different genres into a common symbiosis let my mixes unique in the way of making mixing by typical repeating elements in these sets.

On the one hand he brings feeling passions but on the other hand he hold the straightness on his performance. It becomes harmony by a specifical interaction of a mixture of Detroit-Techno, Monotraxx, Tribal-Techno and Tech-House, although there are contrasts between these individuall kinds of the electronic dance music.
