Prof. Edward Feser is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Pasadena City College, and has also been a Visiting Assistant Professor at Loyola Marymount University. He received a PhD in philosophy from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is the author of books including Philosophy of Mind (A Beginner's Guide), The Last Superstition: A Refutation of the New Atheism, Aquinas (A Beginner's Guide), Scholastic Metaphysics: A Contemporary Introduction, NeoScholastic Essays, Five Proofs for the Existence of God, and By Man Shall His Blood Be Shed: A Catholic Defense of Capital Punishment. Fr. Bernhard is professor of theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome and associate director of its Thomistic Institute. He did his doctoral studies at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, under the direction of Gilles Emery. He has published The Mystery of Union with God: Dionysian Mysticism in Albert the Great and Thomas Aquinas (CUA Press, 2015). He is completing a textbook on the Eucharist. His other research interests include medieval Dominican mystical theologies, the function of metaphysics in theology, the grace/nature relation, the notion of revelation, the development of doctrine and the charisms.

Thomas M. Osborne, Jr. (Ph.D., Duke 2001), is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy, and a member of the Center for Thomistic Studies, University of St. Thomas (Houston). He has written many articles on medieval and late-scholastic philosophy and other topics, and is the author of Love of Self and Love of God in Thirteenth-Century Ethics (2005), Human Action in Thomas Aquinas, John Duns Scotus, and WIlliam of Ockham (2014), and Aquinas's Ethics (2020).

Brian T. Carl earned his M.A. in Philosophy from Saint Louis University and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America. He is an assistant professor at the Center for Thomistic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. His research focuses on Thomistic metaphysics, philosophical theology, cognitive theory, and moral psychology.

This proved quite challenging for me for two reasons. Firstly I was struggling to imagine what I could add, and that I didn't want to make the result with my additions worse than the original. In the end I did a one take improvised piano part, then added a relatively subtley rhythmic beeping in the background. I think I managed to achieve my goal of not making it worse than it was before my additions. You can download a version with the two parts hard panned left and right here:

Walk in the forest in the am in a-minor - Disquiet0474

My audio collage was made by setting up two radio music modules, one playing banks of unfinished tracks I'd done and another filled with audio recorded from public radio. I also set up the radio receiver on a Koma Field Kit to live scan an FM band, whilst the sources were triggered and scrubbed by a complex rats' nest of clock synced LFOs.
I can't really call it a composition as it was me simply setting up a process and documenting the chance encounter. Somewhat fortuitously the Field Kit locked onto a local station broadcasting Covid public service announcements hence the title. Consequently the mix is very rough and unpolished and the chance interplays of radio snippets is best heard on headphones.
