1605 is the Slovenia-based label from one of techno’s grandest ambassadors. UMEK is a name known back to his first appearance in 1996 and has been a major player in the growth of the genre since then.

The latest release Frequency Differ is a dual A-side that includes his modern interpretation on the techno sound as well as a more electro-influenced approach with his Zeta Reticula alias.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the track “Binary Pair” with its imposing power. A two-step beat is surrounded by dramatic tension from haunting synth stabs, electro waves and epic, cinematic chords creating an other worldly vision.

Klimaszewski aka 997 is a deejay, visual artist and dancer from Białystok, Poland.

His performances have been featured in venues like Klub Metro, FOMO, B.A Braga in Portugal, while his techno live acts have taken place in locations as varied as Bruit (Bogota, Colombia), Deepicnic podcast (UK), MWTG and PolishTechno.Logy (Poland), to name a few.

In techno, he focuses on the dynamics of the percussion layer, 'non-obvious' and hypnotising melodies as well as references to classic techno sounds. His role in "Powidok/Afterimage" is also notable, having been inspired by the qualities of body movement and dance rhythms.

Tom Hades - Mimosa

After a whirlwind year in 2011, fledgling young German producer Markus Suckut steps up once again on Figure SPC with three perfect exercises in modern basement techno. Groovy, yet stripped and decidedly minimalist, a breathtaking rolling bassline first becomes apparent in, 'Hunt'. Then, lurking in the the space between the pounding, engineered kick we find a restless static tone, that filters, ignites and shimmers around Markus' no-nonsense beats. Heavy drama with only a few elements! The grinding 'Section' works a playful, squeeking synth riff in and out of a snaking drumtrack, with more pummeling sub bass energies. An adept hand at arranging his tracks to be full of tension and suspense, Suckut captures the energy in this 6 minute funk-weapon. In a more classic dub-style, 'Scent' pushes the deeper echelons of the dancefloor with its bouncing sub bass and lurking, resonant synth flourishes. Once again its all in the subtle mechanics and machine funk of this tooly, atmosphere builder.
