Twenty Eight

I prefer covering songs that have fallen out of public consciousness. Not in some clandestine way like, "I know about this and you don't and I'm gonna be the one to show you." I just think some songs are great and somehow become forgotten and maybe they need to be heard again.  Like in the grand tradition of what Pete Seeger was doing, except that I refuse to ever play a banjo.  Arthur was an amazing singer and his style and songs had major impact on John Lennon and the Beatles early sound.  Unfortunately he passed away in 1993 just as he started recording again after years away from the music biz.

I did this on a Boss BR-8 machine, which runs on ZIP discs.  My old one (okay its actually Jessi's) broke and my friend Larry Vaughn just happened to have one to lying around, and I found this recording after rummaging and listening through dozens of unlabeled grey plastic discs.  I think this was done late 2011.  There is another unfinished version that I did that sounds more like "I Wanna Put on My Boogie Shoes" but you don't get to hear that.
